Advice needed for dining plan first timer

We have the dining plan with 1 table service and 1 quick service. Are there any restrictions on what food you can have? I under stand you can't like have a sharing starter for example for one person??

Secondly we have a vegetarian going. Are menu choices extensive for them??

Lastly are planet Hollywood and rain forest cafe included in the dining plan???

Thanks

There are very few restrictions, the regular dining plan does not include an appetizer. The only exclusion or rather a limitation I was told of was at t-Rex, there is a large dessert that can be shared, they said we could use our 4 adult credits to use it (there were 4 adults at our table), we chose not to do this..

Every menu I have seen has a vegetarian option, check out menus online and you can see what's available. All ears is a great resource!

And yes planet Hollywood and rainforest are included!

There is an outline of what Quick Service (QS) or Table Service (TS) restaurants are included here - https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/planning-guides/in-depth-advice/disney-dining-plan/. I believe what you have is the 2014 Dining Plan and most anything listed as an Entree is available at TS restaurants. My husband and I can oftentimes share a QS meal when the portions are too much. I've included a very basic dining review I gave to my co-workers, who wasn't on a dining plan, last year. Happy planning!

The previous posters are correct on what you can get with your plan. The only table service restaurant at DTD that does not take the dining plan is AMC Dine-In Theatres.

But here is some sage advice - do not waste your time or your dining credit at Planet Hollywood. The food is terrible and the service even worse. Not sure how Disney hasn't kicked them out.

Being a vegetarian I can say that menu choices are not extensive at most locations. Typically there will be 1 veggie friendly dish on the menu, and maybe one or two others that if you talk to your waiter/waitress the chef may be able to modify. Look at the menus online so you can see what your options are. You shouldn't go hungry, but will see a few things repeated frequently.

I noticed with the quick service that if u wanna substitute something for something that you don't like, they tell you , you can't do it. Had this happen at animal kingdom at the BBQ stand near the tree. They had BBQ chicken and I think string beans and baked beans or something like that. Asked if I could substitute something else for the beans and they said no. Wasn't happy, only thing I could have eaten was the chicken. It would have been a waste. Ended up going somewhere else.

At some of the non-park restaurants there are dishes that are meant for 2 which will require 2 credits, such as the paella at Bongos. Sadly, the bf does not love all the yummy shellfish, so no paella for me!
