Dining Plan Changes?

Last December we got the dining plan that includes the lunch, dinner, and snack option. One of the days in MK we used a lunch at the Plaza around 1pm then used a Dinner at the Crystal Palace around 6pm. Meaning, we used 2 tables services that day, one at lunchtime and one at dinnertime.

Now, when we're making our reservations for this December they're saying lunch can only be used on counter service meals. I thought lunches could be used for the LUNCH menu at a table service like last year.

Has this been changed or was the lady we talked to wrong? :veryconfu

If you're referring to the regular DP then I thought it was a "sit down" meal, a QS meal and a snack for each day you're booked at a resort. Never heard of limiting you to a "time" when you had to do it. I've seen people here to have spent their dining credit 2 sit-downs in one day or 2-3 snacks in one day etc...

Never had heard of a dining plan with a "lunch snack and dinner plan".there are a few variations of the dining plan the most common is the version that allows you one quick serve( fast food) snack and table serve( sit down) per person per day. That means if you have 2 adults staying for 5 days you would each get 5 snacks 5 quick serve and 5 table serve meals per person. You can use them any way you want. 2 TS in one day 5snacks another day, but once you have used your credits up that's it for that category. Hope this makes sense.

It MAY be that she meant your lunch and dinner times were too close together and the dining reservation system may cancel one or both of them so that you wouldn't double book a meal... but it seems more likely that the CM you spoke to was wrong  I would make your reservations online or try calling again.

The regular dining plan doesn't have "lunch" and "dinner" credits, rather 1 quick service and 1 table service and 1 snack. You can use them in any order you wish.

Hm, last time we stayed 6 days, so we had 6 of everything. We ate at one TS a day except for the one day when we ate at the Plaza for lunch and Crystal Palace for Dinner (which makes it a total of 7 TS). They seemed to take a QS. I thought it was because we ate there early. Did they mess up something?

It doesn't seem fair that someone can use a TB for a cheaper/limited lunch menu and someone else can eat there later and use the same TB for the more expensive dinner menu. If that's the case, it seems like no one with the DDP would eat there for lunch because its a better deal for dinner.

And THAT is why if you get the DDP, you have to do your research to see how to get the best bang for your buck.

Here's the brochure for the regular Disney Dining Plan. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2010Dining.pdf

You get 1 table service meal, 1 counter service meal and 1 snack per night of your resort stay. You can use 3 table service one day and 3 counter service the next day, it doesn't matter the order you use them in.

There's also the DELUXE dining plan where you get 3 dining credits (table or quick) and 2 snacks per day. Is that what you got?

I definitely get what you guys are saying. I appreciate all your insight. Its just that with that extra TS last year, we're a little confused now.

Hm unless we were given the 3 TS plan because we did interchange TB and QS. We just figured we got the basic plan, but maybe not. I'm gonna have to dig up our old papers to see what's what. Either we did have the deluxe or they just made an error and gave us an extra TB.

We love eating at all the TB's so we might just upgrade this one. Would anyone happen to know how much an upgrade would cost?

It's an extra $30/night for adults and an extra $10/night for children. Each person also gets a refillable resort mug with the Deluxe plan.

Keep in mind, the deluxe plan will get you a LOT of food (it still includes appetizers while the regular plan does not) and take into account how much time each table service meal takes and if you want to spend that much time in restaurants. If you don't mind losing that park touring time and eating all that food, go for it!

Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it! You're right, 3 is too many, then again, 1 is too little. Too bad they don't have 2 TB a day with no QS lol but doesn't everybody haha

We're going to keep what we have, the basic plan. Thanks again!
