Hi - another dining plan question (never done it before). I read that at a table service, you could not get a non-alcoholic specialty drink for your non-alcoholic beverage. Does this include milkshakes and smoothies or only things that say "non-alcoholic" in the description. Thanks for any clarification :)

Just coming back from WDW and using the DDP, I can say that it just depends on where you go. Some places like Whispering canyon will include milkshakes for you as a dring option, while other like Boma will not include items like their Kenya blend of coffee. A sure sign if it is not included are the words "specialty" to any classification of drink when on the DDP. One more tip when getting drinks on the DDP, especially for counter service places, is to specifically ask for a large size if they have one. Just asking for a Coke will always get you the smaller, regular size.

I think it's up to the individual restaurant. I've been able to get a milkshake as my beverage at both 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi Dine-In.

Yep, it just depends. There are usually several different kinds of different drinks outside of the standard coke/juice/milk/tea options. The one thing I can tell you that is never covered are the glow cubes!

I quietly stashed light up ice cubes purchased at home online and brought them to WDW to add to the kids standard drinks. They're small, cheap, and a big treat for the kids vs. paying the premium, and they still have them.

Just ask your server at each restaurant what beverages are included on the DP when they come to take your order. It not only depends on which restaurant, but anything posted here may change.
We were pleasantly surprised sometimes.
One place allowed either a specialty smoothie (only one) or unlimited refills on a common soft drink.
