Dining plan and Ohana ?

On the dining plan what if we all don't want a dessert (or an appitizer if we upgraded to the deluxe plan) with our meal do they adjust it somehow?

Is the bread pudding the only dessert offered at Ohana? I cant wait to try it personally it's DH, DS and DD that will look at me with the "you're kidding right" look. They are chocoholics and very fussy eaters so I may not be able to convince them on Ohana or some of the other places I'd love to try :(

If you choose not to have an included dessert or appetizer, the price you paid to include the dining plan in yor package will not be affected. You pay in advance for the dining plan, and once you use a meal credit, it is gone, whether you forego part of the meal or not. That's why some people complain that the dining plan forces you to eat too much food to get your money's worth. I am not one of those people. :D Then again, we're getting free dining on our next trip (and on our last), so if we skip portions of our meal, it's no money lost in any case.

'Ohana is a set menu and CRAZY yummy! My picky eaters love it. You maybe able to put a special request in for a different dessert but I am not sure. We are planning on putting one in for our 3 yr old that only eats FF. I think you need to call ahead to arrange it!

I would HIGHLY recommend it. Tell them it is for you although I can't see any DH not loving it!

Thanks :) I assumed it's how it was I just wanted to be sure.

They used to have fresh pineapples with caramel sauce as a 2nd dessert I think. You can always ask about it even if it's not on the menu.

We got deserts from Kona for our kids before and never had a problem. Not us adults, just the kids. But they tried the banana bread as well, and are now hooked!!! It's fantastic.

This was in a guest review of 'Ohana on line, on another site, dated June 1 of this year:

My husband is allergic to coconut, so we told them no coconut bread and they sent out the chef to talk to him. The chef told us that the dessert is made with the coconut bread, so he sent out a molten chocolate cake - it was great as well.

Firstly, great choice in picking Ohana! Hands down, one of our fav restaurants at Disney. My DS is not a fan of the dessert (something wrong with that young man!! LOL) and he always gets a dish of vanilla ice cream. However the price would not change if you decide not to get dessert. Enjoy!!!

Very good choice on dinner at 'Ohana! In times past, the 'Ohana dessert (which was much better than the current nasty bread pudding) was pineapple with caramel dipping sauce. With the dining plan, the options are pretty standard (whether you want any part of them or not)......entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. I'm not aware of any adjustments they can make if others eating there with you want to forego the dessert. Since the dessert is basically already paid for, if you forego it, you're wasting some money. Better to get it and at least take a few bites than to already pay for it and not get it or try it at all.

We are doing Ohana as well but the desert is not my type of food as well. It is my boyfried type of food so i will trade my desert for his shrimps! Great deal ;) Well maybe i will score an cup cake somewhere else so it's a win win for me!

I don't know about 'Ohana's because it is and all you can eat, but many other restaurants will provide a desert to-go if you are full at the end of your meal and using the dining plan. Just ask your server.
