Dining Options And Groups/KTTW

So just a question on dining plans and groups.

If you travel with 2 or more folks that are staying in your room/family on property does everyone need to have the SAME options on you KTTW far as dinning plan(s) and park tickets?

I ask as my wife just recently booked our stay this year. We thought we’d split our dinning up between us. So one would get quick serve and one basic full dining. This way we could make a few ADR’s and use the full dinning KTTW to cover those meals.

Our agent told us that we could not. Everyone in our party needed to be on and have the SAME package.

This true?

I only ask as last year I had heard from a friend that he did this. Him/wife/daughter traveled and stayed on property. His plan was to get 1 dining plan and 2 quick serves. I thought it went thru…maybe not? Maybe this was his plan and it got shot down as well?

Anyway, not looking to start a debate… Just tried to capture the best of what is offered.

We do not like to have to make ADR’s and schedule our whole trip around eating times.

That said we opted for the quick serve since it better fits our style. It has worked in the past vacations so I’m sure we’ll enjoy it again. It would have been nice to include at least 4 ADR’s during out of our 10 day trip. But if we decided to attend any sit down/service dining places we’ll likely just pay out of pocket as we did in the past.

Thanks for any info in advance.

THANK YOU! I believe it...no worries.

Should have known the details would come out vs. what I was told.

We have a great relationship with our agent/company and I'da never thought anything past what they told us. Just pondered what our friends told us.

Thank you for the quick reply too.

Though at least in terms of park tickets, you can have different length of tickets for different people in the room, if you know how to use the system.

Let's say you have 4 people in the room. For some reason two of the people only want to go to the parks for 4 days, while the others want to go for 6 days. You can make the package reservation with 4-day tickets for everyone, and then after you check in, you can pay to add two more days onto the tickets that need them.

That's how my group has done it a few times. I had an AP, but to get Free Dining we all had to have at least a 1-day ticket (I think it's a 2-day minimum now) as part of the package. So we booked with a 1-day ticket for everyone. My friends upgraded their tickets to 7-day Park Hoppers, and I saved my 1-day ticket for use on a later trip.
