Dining Help

We will be visiting the world in June 2014 and using the dining plan. I have no idea what to book as my family is very picky and at least two of my "boys" will not try new things. Which restaurants offer mainly American foods that are not super fancy? No seafood or very low amount on the menu as we are not seafood people. I am open to trying new things but DS 5 and DH will not try anything new and are extremely picky. DS 5 likes chicken nuggets/tenders, and pizza are always good and DH is pretty much strictly american steak, chicken, pork chops, not big on veggies. We will probably be mostly looking a buffets but I would also like a nicer sit down once or twice. I tried looking up the menus but my computer is so slow and I thought why not see what everyone else likes.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Every restaurant has a kids menu which usually includes things like Mac and cheese, chicken strips, pizza, hamburgers, etc. Also just look at the menus online and decide what appeals to you most. A great place besides on here is on Allears.net. They update them fairly often as menus change all the time. :)

If your are looking for good old fashioned American food (including things that are supposed to be foreign like Americanized Italian Food, i.e. spaghetti) in a sit-down reataurant, there are multiple places

in Magic Kingdom try Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's town square
in Epcot, try Rose & Crown in England, plain stuff like pot roast and fish and chips
in Animal Kingdom try Rainforest Cafe
In Disney Hollywood Studios try Sci-Fi, Brown Derby, Mama Melrose- or what sounds ideal for you- 50s Prime Time Cafe (1950s homestyle cooking)

Every deluxe hotel has a casual sit down restaurant, some like Boma and Jiko at Animal Kingdom are a little more daring, but will also have plain foods available. but the majority are basic American Fare.
In particular your boys would like Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge, lots of shenanigans going on and good old fashion barbecue (and some non-barbecue).
At downtown Disney there are many American food places, but i bet your boys will LOVE T-Rex. Routine chain store food, but surrounded by dinosaurs that come alive and meteor showers.

I would recommend buffets, Chef Mickey's Crystal palace and 1900 Park fare are all character meals but expensive. Trails End, Boma and Biergarten are good. otherwise I second @DisneyDebNJ recommendation to check allearsnet.

We will be doing mostly buffets as they are the safe choice but I would like a few non-buffet meals too. I have looked at allears from time to time just wanted some opinions from others who have been there and had the food.
