Our group has dining reservations for 5. 2 in our party are cancelling theirs. How does that effect our reservations if all were made for 5 but now will only be 3?

Welcome to WDW Magic! Do you have reservations for 5, or do you have two separate reservations for 2 and 3? If they are separate, you can cancel the ones for the party of 2 and your 3-person reservations won't be affected.
If the reservations are for 5, you can show up at a reservation with fewer people and they will still seat you without any penalty. You can try to search for reservations for three if you'd like to try to release the 5-person reservations but you don't have to.
