Dining Alert Recs for a nice early dinner with 2 kids and parents

Hi, first trip to Disney the week of April 12th and my parents are joining for the latter half. Their first day with us is April 15th, which is also their anniversary! We’re planning on spending the day at HS but flexible re: dinner location (could be Epcot? MK? HS?) my parents are off-property but my husband and I and our fidgety 4 and 7yos will be at Poly. Any suggestions for a nice dinner place that hopefully won’t be too painful for two boys after a park day? Would be setting Dining alerts for early dinner. So far I have an alert for Storybook Dining but would love any other recs. Ohana also seems logical but have a res there for our first night and don’t really want to go twice in one trip. Thanks!!

If it would be easiest to stay in HS, I would think two boys would love Sci-Fi Dine-In! You sit in a car, watch (not) scary movie clips, and chow down on things like burgers and milkshakes, or pasta and ribs. Note that the cars will seat two to a row so half of the party will be sitting in front of the other. But it’s a fun way to dine at HS!

Edit: I think I misread this earlier and didn’t register the grandparents and anniversary party. :P In that case, Sci-Fi is probably not what you want! There’s lots of finer dining around Boardwalk/Yacht Club, and tons of options in Epcot (I suggest if you want to go to Epcot, you should look at menus since there’s so many different experiences and cuisines).

Or if you head back to your resort area, Kona Cafe is always a chill and laid back alternative to ‘Ohana, followed by some family quality time on the beach.

There’s Flying Fish at Boardwalk, or other options in the Boardwalk/BeachClub/Swan and Dolphin area. If you have park hoppers, you could do dinner in France. Or Canada. Both are good. An in-park option will be more flexible with dress codes than a hotel signature. If you want to stay in DHS you could do Brown Derby.
