Has anyone every done the "Dine with Shamu" experience? (The $39 one). Do you also get reserved seating with it? Was it worth it? My 4 year old son LOVES Shamu. Thanks

We've "Dined With Shamu" twice - the last time being August 2006. Yes, we felt it was worth it.

There is a poolside dining area which seats around 100 people (I think). The tables are set in two rows, the front row is up against the pool ropes - you're no more than 6 feet from the water (and yes; you may get wet - there's no glass or anything between you and the whales). The second row of seats are behind the front row. The guests are allocated tables prior to arrival - so there's no advantage to getting there first to get the best seats / tables. While you eat your buffet style meal the whales are in the water next to you. After a given time the trainers appear on the far side and the whales "Interact" with them - there's no show, no tricks - if the whales don't want to play then so be it.

Its a peaceful relaxed meal with the benefit of an up close view of the stars of SeaWorld and this has always resulted in some great photos

We too have done it twice and love it!!!! I would definately recommend it. In fact, we are going to do it for a 3rd time in April for DS 5th bday.

Captain Hook summed it up beautifully. The first time we went they did actually do a few big tricks. It was a much better interaction experience than the second one where it seemed more of just a few little tricks and a lot of talking by the trainers.
