Dilemma with roommate match for CP should I drop the person or wait and see?

So the title pretty much sums it up but I will give you guys the whole senario.

So I emailed the person that I am suppose to be rooming with during our CP time and got a rather sudden and off setting reply. We have been emailing almost every week since we got are letters and agreed to be roommates back in April. With the end of my college semester and her job back home the emails dwindled from once a day to once a week and now almost once every two weeks. In the last email I was just talking about life and trying to catch up and in her reply she informed me that unless the company she is working for lets her return to her job in January when we finish the program she is going to turn down her Disney position and stay home. This concerns me because we have already formed a sort of bond and being of the same age we discovered we lived a similar life style (not big partiers/low alcohol consumtion and stay up late but are respectful of others) and had even been discussing who would bring what and how we would decorate our room. Our program starts in two months and I have been concerned since finding out early this week that she may not come that I would be stuck spending money on a t.v. and things that I end up not needing because I loose my roommate. I thought about emailing her and saying that I think it would be better if we split ways now but at the same time I don't want to betray the bond we have already formed and in the case she might still come to the program deal with the potential back lash if she is working there.

What do you guys think I should do?

It sounds to me like she has lost interest in the whole program. I think I'd cut my losses and make new plans. No sense in you ruining your experience also.

I agree with unkadug, best to start looking for a new roomie. Besides they are not always what they claim to be. DD roommate said she did not drink. What she meant was that she did not drink water. She was kicked out 5 weeks into the program for underage drinking.

Oh wow! Yeah I am 24 so it doesn't matter if people drink or not I just don't want to be the party apartment. I'm going to work and make connections not get sloshed every night and get kicked out. I'm so glad your DD didn't get kicked out because I've heard if you live in a Wellness apartment and anyone is caught with alcohol then the whole apartment is sent home immediately.

I took your guys advise and am actively looking for a new room mate. I haven't broken the roommate match just yet because I haven't heard back from the original roommate yet but if I find another one I will just switch it.

Also what is very awkward is she uses no social media and deleted both of her tumblrs to me that is weird for a 23 year old.

The girl was not drinking in the apt, just hopping onto the party bus and going to Miami to drink on the beach all day (and post pics on fb - DUH!) after partying at the clubs til 2am. She turned into a complete and totally different person after her friend joined the program one month later. DD NEVER got a new roommate, she said for the most part it was fine but it did get a tad lonely. PS - She just got campus rep so she can continue her journey :0)

Tell your DD congrats. I graduated so unfortunately can't become a campus rep but I'm hoping to get a profession internship before I leave in order to extend my time.

They asked her to apply for one before she left, but...................she is pre-med and that is where her heart lies :0)

The "roommate" deal is just for the specific room. At Chatham there are 4/5 rooms per apartment. There is never any solid way to avoid partiers (my older brother learned that one). Saying that it doesn't really matter if the person directly in your room is the partier or the other 6-8 people are the ones. It is LOUDDD. Which housing complex did you get your assignment to? I don't think I saw it in the thread.

We haven't gotten assigned yet and I know that the roommate is only for the specific room. We were going to get there super early and ask for a 1 or 2 room apartment. There are two complexes now that have 1 or 2 rooms and you get to pick instead of just being assigned.

I'm looking to live in Patterson since it is the newest complex but as long as I'm in 2 rooms or less I will be fine. I've delt with party roommates before and sleep with ear plugs anyways it is just more about having respectful room mates.

Oh by the way our break off was official and I am indeed looking for a new roommate.

Well best of luck to you on not getting Vista Way! I am guessing you have heard the tales!

I have heard the tales about Vista Way haha. I'm hoping that my age plays a role in being able to get one of the less "freshman" dorms. I'm 24 so I'm hoping that will work for me when it comes to who I am paired with and where we might end up. However, I have also heard that my age may work against me because the young ones will try and persuade me to buy them alcohol. Luckily I have a 0 tolerance for that because I don't want to loose my job and license and have jail time all for one person's fun night.

My older brother is doing his in August and has been a campus rep, 24 as well. He has zero tolerance for "contributing" and passed that to me. His knowledge of the program he has been told he more than likely will be in a younger aged dorm as a role model. He is dead against Vista Way but wouldn't mind Chatham again. What job area?

I'm working Attractions. Just hoping I get a ride and not a show. I have been trying to pin point my options because I have a leg tattoo so I have to be in a location that has long pants as an option. I wish the would just let me do like Starbucks and put and Ace Bandage around it or my sweat band so that I can wear shorts. I haven't brought up just coving it with a wrap so maybe they will but when I was hired I was told long pants was the only option.

Bandages are not allowed. Only very small tattoos can be covered with makeup, otherwise it needs to be covered by clothing. You will most likely have to wear pants.

The games in AK are part of Dinoland merchandise.

Yeah the 3" wide wrap on my leg will equal pants. I'm lucky that I am going down during the winter season and not summer haha.

Do all places have pants as an option? Like I've only seen Jungle Cruise in shorts but I've also only noticed what they wear in the Summer. Lucky for me pants don't really make me hot. I grew up wearing blue jeans in 100 degree Texas Summers because you can't really ride horses in shorts (or at least I don't)
