Digital Camera Question

Hello...I have a digital camera question. I just recently bought my first digital camera, a Minolta Dimage E323. I just took some pictures with friends, and uploaded them onto the computer. When I uploaded them, they looked normal size, but when I emailed them to friends, they were HUGE! More than two times the size of the screen. How do I make them smaller files? Is it something I have to do on the camera, or am I going to need to but some imaging software...if so, what is a good kind (besides Photoshop...I don't have that kind of money right now.)

To adjust the photo size in your camera so future pictures aren't as big, look for a menu button that takes you to image size settings. One of the preset sizes should be 640x480 and that will give you a great size for looking at on a computer screen and emailing or posting. Switch to a larger image size if you plan to print the pictures you'll be taking or want to zoom in on small details later.

I hope that helps! :)
