Differences in Dining Plans?Where did all the restaurants go?

Anyone know the price difference between the upper dining plans? What is the price hike to get Deluxe and now Platinum? Also I printed the Dining Plan for 2014 from Disney and they cut out a bunch of restaurants that are for table service. There were only like 5 restaurants offered in Epcot not counting the Signature Celliers. Where did all the restaurants go? The Maya Grill at Coronado Springs that we love is not even included. None of the Downtown Disney restaurants like Wolfgang Pucks is offered either. WTH!!! I am confused. Thankfully all the restaurants we have decided on are on the plan.

Despite @Trotsky's rather vitriolic opinions... There is a more accurate answer to the question you asked:

The participating restaurants in the brochure don't appear until they've completed negotiations with Disney. Disney owned and operated restaurants are there right away when the new brochure becomes available on-line, the rest show up in dribs and drabs right up until the end of the calendar year.

If you make your ADRs based on restaurants that are currently listed in the 2013 brochure, the odds are extremely good that all you choose will be on the final list for 2014. In the highly unlikely event that a restaurant you choose drops off for some reason, you'll only have to revise that ADR, and then only if you don't still want that particular restaurant.

I agree with him that for many who have access to it, the TiW card is often a better deal than DDP, but that's something you didn't ask about.

One more bit of historical info to add to Monty's thorough posts:

With the exception of restaurants that have outright closed, there has *never* (to the best of my knowledge) been a restaurant that's dropped out of the DDP after being on it in the previous year. (And there are certainly a number who have joined in over the years that didn't at first) So history is definitely on your side if you use the current year's restaurant list as a basis.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yeah like Monty and others stated as per our experience the list is usually not finalized until sometime in December usually. I have never seen a restaurant not be on the plan that had previously been on It. So do not worry it will not be finalized for a while. People panic every year when they initially release the new pricing and new list. :)

Just to mention, they did change the requirements for the Platinum plan a few years ago. You now need to be staying for 3 nights I believe.

And to yet again echo what Monty said, it happens every year. Also, every restaurant you mentioned is O/O by a 3rd party. And they tend to not show up until the very end of the year, or even when the actual paper copy of the plan gets printed.
