Did this CGI film ever get made?

About a year ago I remember following a link from animated movies .net, before it went offline, and found a listing of upcoming computer animated feature films by independent studios. There were things like Delgo, Valiant, and this other weird film that I've never heard of since. I followed its link and there was a full site for this studio, with concept art, news, even a trailer. The movie was about some sort of war in the sky with flying fortresses, airplanes, and such, all in a stylized WWII kind of way. The main character was a boy who gets caught up in the war and apparently trains to fly by strapping Leorardo-style bat wings to his arms and jumping out of planes. I really don't remember much else besides that it looked somewhat violent, but obviously aimed at kids. It wasn't really higly stylized in its art or anything (ie. no big Jimmy Neutron-style heads and no anime eyes), though it wasn't approaching the photorealism of the final fantasy movie. Am I going crazy or does anyone remember hearing anything about this movie, and whether or not it's still in production? I think the production title was "Sky Heroes," or "Air Warriors," or "Sky Fortress" or something.

Oh, it's definitely NOT the Miyazaki film "Castle in the Sky" because I've seen that, AND it's not the upcoming "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" CGI/Live action movie.

Thanks, but like I said, it's not Sky Captain. When I said stylized in a WWII fashion what I meant was that the emphasis in this movie was on prop-driven planes and cannons, not a modern or sci-fi approach with jets or lasers and such. Also, there was definitely not a bit of live action in it at all, the characters looked similar to the human characters in Finding Nemo, if anything. And finally, the color pallette was very bright and cheerful with lots of red planes against a crystal blue sky. It's a totally different project, and there was a quicktime work-print trailer out there. I just need to find it again.

Well I just found this:

And that's about all the info I can find on this movie. There's only a tiny picture out of this thing and it looks superficially similar, but I'm fairly certain that this is not the same project. First off, what ever I saw, "Sky Commandos" or whatever, was purely secular in leaning, but it's not inconceivable that the studio producing "Sky Commandos" ran out of money or lost funding along the way and had to pull a Big Idea to get more backing from Christian entertainment interests. Also, it looks a bit too futuristic, what with the hoverboards and all. I distinctly remember people, including the main character children, learning how to fly and fight by strapping wings to their hands. Plus the people releasing this movie, Cactus Studios, looks more like a converted software/comic operation rather than the upstart CGI film studio that was making the film I'm looking for. This movie, or what's left of it, has got to be out there somewhere. I just wish I knew the name.
