Did Pinocchio Diamond Edition get cancelled ?

I hope not. I was waiting for this one. I'm thinking it quietly got cancelled as they announced the new Singnature Edition Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is coming out this Spring. I hope I'm wrong but I did think it was weird that they missed the chance to release it on the 75th anniversary this year.

Nobody know I guess. Looks like the only Pinocchio we'll have on Blu-ray for a while is Platinum edition.

Most likely. Which of course will make me want to buy the rest of the Signature releases since I didn't complete my diamond set with Pinocchio. I'm such a sucker. I think Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and Fantasia are 3 that deserve the Signature treatment didn't get any of the diamond edition love.

I have the Platinum, and I love it. Great extras, lavish production values. One of the best DVDs Disney has ever put out. A must-have for any Disneyphile (especially if you're a WALTDisneyphile!)

Someone I talked to said that it was originally planned to be released in February with Snow White coming out in October. I was told that they scrapped plans due to a possible live action version on the horizon and thought it would be good to cross-promote. If that's true, it could be a while. Hopefully though, they'll put it out in October or something.

I would expect Beauty and the Beast for October 2016. For two reasons:

1) to promote the live-action remake (opening March 2017)
2) it's the movie's 25th anniversary

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be waiting a while If they re waiting for the Pinocchio live version. With Jungle book, Dumbo and Beauty and the Beast already announced it could be years. I know Pinocchio isn't a huge money making franchise for Disney but I think it deserves a little more love.

How would you compare the Platinum editions to the Diamond editions in general? I don't own any of the Platinum editions.
