I hope not. I was waiting for this one. :( I'm thinking it quietly got cancelled as they announced the new Singnature Edition Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is coming out this Spring. I hope I'm wrong but I did think it was weird that they missed the chance to release it on the 75th anniversary this year.

It'll probably be some future addition to the upcoming Signature line.

Most likely. Which of course will make me want to buy the rest of the Signature releases since I didn't complete my diamond set with Pinocchio. I'm such a sucker. I think Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and Fantasia are 3 that deserve the Signature treatment didn't get any of the diamond edition love.

Someone I talked to said that it was originally planned to be released in February with Snow White coming out in October. I was told that they scrapped plans due to a possible live action version on the horizon and thought it would be good to cross-promote. If that's true, it could be a while. Hopefully though, they'll put it out in October or something.

I would expect Beauty and the Beast for October 2016. For two reasons:

1) to promote the live-action remake (opening March 2017)
2) it's the movie's 25th anniversary

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be waiting a while If they re waiting for the Pinocchio live version. With Jungle book, Dumbo and Beauty and the Beast already announced it could be years. I know Pinocchio isn't a huge money making franchise for Disney but I think it deserves a little more love.

I have the Platinum, and I love it. Great extras, lavish production values. One of the best DVDs Disney has ever put out. A must-have for any Disneyphile (especially if you're a WALTDisneyphile!)

How would you compare the Platinum editions to the Diamond editions in general? I don't own any of the Platinum editions.
