DHS to Epcot Help!

Ok, here is my biggie,
I have read quite a bit about DHS and about the Epcot back entrance what I was wondering is this...

How would you go about getting from DHS to the Epcot back entrance in the shortest amount of time? Is there a way to do this?

I had read someplace that there is a ferry from DHS to the Beach Club, I think it is, and than a walkway to the back part of Epcot???

I will be honest as to why I want to know this, on our trip a few years ago, we saw the 7:30 Fantasmic, saw the 9pm Illuminations and than went and saw the 10:30/11pm Wishes. My boys still talk about how much fun this was and I was hoping to try something similiar for our first night at WDW this year, but there will not be a late showing of Wishes at MK and I really do not enjoy viewing Illuminations from the Future World side, much prefer it from World Showcase side of Epcot!

Thanks in advance for you help!

The ferry actually goes all the way to Epcot's rear entrance along with stops at BC and BW. The busses may be quicker though. Especially if you aren't at the back of Epcot when you want to leave. The trip takes at least 25 minutes and sometimes you can wait up to 20 minutes to even pick up a ferry. If you are at FW, especially on the M:S/TT side, the walk, wait, and ferry could take about an hour.

If you have a car, that will probably be the best bet.

If you're fit, a brisk walk might be the fastest. We cut through Boarwalk and made it to DHS minutes faster than the ferry boat.

The ferry boats (or the Friendships, as their called) do connect Epcot's International Gateway entrance and the entrance to DHS. Along the way, they make stops at the Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club, and Swan/Dolphin Resorts. The boat ride itself from the DHS entrance to Epcot's "back entrance" in World Showcase is about 25 minutes. Friendships arrive at the DHS dock every 20 minutes or so.

There is a lighted pathway that goes alongside the water that you can use to walk form DHS to Epcot. Total time can range from 20-30 minutes or higher, depending on your walking speed, if you stop to window shop, etc. However, if you're going to bring children along, walking over a mile from one park to the other may not be the best thing to do.

The busses will take you from DHS to the main entrance of Epcot in Future World. Normally, I'd say a bus is the fastest way, but with all the cutbacks and horrible stories I've heard about Disney busses recently, I'd go against using this method. It might turn into an hour and a half, two hour nightmare that causes you to miss everything.

My recomendation: Take the Friendship from DHS to the dock at the Yacht/Beach Club, go down the dock, turn right, and follow the path to Epcot. You'll save time because the Friendship will still go to the Boardwalk before heading for Epcot, whereas you'll go directly to Epcot. Its a nice mix of walking and boat riding, and currently, is probably the fastest way from DHS to Epcot, aside from running down the path between DHS and Epcot.

I would take the resort bus from DHS to Disney's Boardwalk, and walk through the back entrance. I don't know if it's the quickest way - but it's the way I go and I have no complaints about it. As long as the resort line isn't really long.

Unless there's a boat at the dock when you walk up, walking is almost always faster. The shortest route is just over 1.1 miles, cutting through the Boardwalk main pool area.

There is a *slightly* shorter route by cutting past the tennis courts and through the Boardwalk parking lot, but I don't think it's worth it, because it's an uphill walk to the BW front entrance, and then back down stairs to the Boardwalk level. The route linked to is mostly level.
