DHS' Osborne Lights benefactor passes away

This afternoon, Jennings Osborne, the namesake of The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at DHS, passed away in Little Rock, AR. He passed away from complications of heart valve replacement surgery that took place in April. He loved seeing the joy and amazement in the eyes of those walking through the lights each year. He will be sorely missed, but hopefully his lights will continue to bring joy to many people for years to come.

Thanks to all who have come in years past to support his love of Christmas and the Christmas lights!

So sad to hear about this. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights has brought a lot of joy to me in the years that I have seen them. I will see them again this year and will think of Jennings Osborne and his family. I even added a few extra days to my trip so that I would make sure to see the lights.

I was really sad to hear this news yesterday. He was featured in a segment of the Little Rock episode of Man vs Food. Apparently the only thing bigger than his Christmas lights and his BBQ was his heart. The world is a little darker without him in it.
