Red Wings are the best team in Hockey, Their record stands alone, however Ferov, Shannehan, are not retiring in 3 years. Even if they did, the wings have more talent up in coming, I usually don't care too much for sports, but hockey is the best, it is fast moving and exciting, just go to a wings game and you won't use your chair the whole night!!! Go Wings!!!!

Even so, I think I'll stick to my Marching Band and Music stuff. I understand my pentatonic, tone row, ioniac, aeolian, etc scales better than my hockey. lol

Ok, the Wings are probably the best team in the NHL currently. But the Yankees of hockey? Sorry ... that title falls to the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens with their 23 Stanley Cups (actually 24, but lots of people think it's 23, so I'll give one up just for the sake of argument) far outrank every other NHL team, including Detroit with their 10 Stanley Cups.

I was considering the Red Wings the Yankees of hockey because they can go out and buy any player they want to help them, just like the Yankees.

I know that Detroit is no where close to Montreal in terms of titles but that wasn't the aspect I was considering.

I'm a music major in college but I'm a bigger fan of hockey than of ANY kind of music theory!

I like the Red Wings, but being from Edmonton I like the Oilers too (though they haven't done very well in a few years). My son is a big-time Wings fan though, they are #1 on his list.
