Despicable Me Closed?

We went to Universal twice this week and Despicable Me was closed and boarded up. I cannot find anywhere on their internet site is down for repairs, where I see Hulk is closed for refurbishment. Does anyone know anything, as we are planning on going again later this week.

I wonder how much flak Universal got for having the Minions closed down? It always struck me as a ride they just couldn't afford to close for a week. Makes me wonder about that happening over at Forbidden Journey for the rumored 3-D update...

It has to be done to keep it up and running properly, would have heard more if it was left to rot. A week at one of the slowest times of the year? Not going to impact me in the least.

FJ has been running for almost 6 years now without an overhaul. Looking forward to a refurb, not the 3D though

I agree completely, but it's worth nothing that this past week has not been as slow as one might have expected. It feels like winter peak lasted an extra week. It was a definite surprise to me finding out that one of Universal's most popular attractions was closed during a time when Transformers, Journey, and Rockit were at 60+ minute waits.

I'm waiting every day for that refurb announcement. Hoping for a major locker revamp more than anything. I can't wait till Wizarding World West opens up so that we can get some photos of the inside of their castle to compare.

I think the lockers were done that way on purpose so I don't expect any changes there but if they could just pipe some AC into the area it would go a long way to making it bearable. Gringotts is much the same cramped hot locker area and they had all the room in the world to get those right yet it is the same as FJ so I have to conclude it is intentional.

The problem with FJ locker room is it is in the middle of the queue when the line reaches out the door. They didn't make that mistake again with Gringott's. But it is still too small with no ventilation.

I do think it was intentional to recreate the chaos of getting to Hogwarts and having to stow your stuff before you went to learn about the school. Does a good job of that.

All in the theme which is quickly becoming UC's credo. Wonder where they might have learned that?

If that's their intention, I'm pretty darn sure nobody, even the employees, has picked up on that.

Hogsmeade was UC's first real go at a truly immersive world. Because of that, a certain sense of practicality and consistency with the other areas of the park of the park were thrown out the window. They learned from Hogsmeade and applied their results to Diagon Alley.

Yup. My finger print thing wouldn't work. Sat there for 5 minutes trying to get it to work because the screen is old and falling apart.
and there aren't enough now that they have become mandatory. The walk up to the queue is so long, I'm sure there's plenty of room to redesign it and add reasonable locker areas.
