It looks like Johnny Depp is still dead set on getting "Rolling Stones" rocker Keith Richards to play his character Jack Sparrow's father in the sequel PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST. Depp mentioned "It looks like it's going to happen…"But I don't know when. It's all going to depend on where we are and where he is, because he's got a little thing called the Rolling Stones tour to do." He mentioned a few other tidbits but what I found to be absoutely hilarious (and maybe unintentionally so) was his recap of the principal casts' careers since the original. He mentioned:
A lot of things happened…Orlando's, you know, [in] these big movies. And Keira, you know, all this stuff. And everybody's all over the map. And so we didn't quite know what to expect. And Gore, obviously, Gore's been working like a demon.
Referring to Verbinski's constant working as "working like a demon" gave me a big tickle, for some reason. Check out more of what he had to say, including why shooting had to be delayed for a while, over HERE. The sequels are being filmed back-to-back with DEAD MAN'S CHEST set for release July 7th, 2006. Depp can next be seen as the wacky Willy Wonka in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
