I will be flying on a Delta Plane for the first time and I was wondering how safe their service is and how good their service is. Any info will be appriciated.

I fly Delta regulalry, and I have found no problems with their safety. They are one of the larger airlines, so I am a little more trusting of them.

As far as service it depends upon who is running the flight. They are a big enough company that you can get good and bad crew. It also depends upon whether it is a Delta or a Song flight. I find the Delta crew are a little better.

One thing to be aware of, if you are flying on Delta - they have a really, really bad habit of overbooking their Orlando flights. I once got a $400 voucher and an overnight hotel stay because of a voluntary bump. All for a $99 ticket!

Any idea what kind of plane you are flying?

Probably a 777, then. You will be amazed at how big a plane they use for the short distance to Atlanta. I wouldn't worry, then - those planes are some of the newest in their fleet, and on those runs they usually have good service. Boarding and deplaning take a long time, though, so if you are making a connection you want to look in the back of the inflight magazine for where your next gate is, in case it is half way across the airport.

Delta shredded my Samsonite luggage once and ruined everything inside! However, they were very nice at reimbursing me for everything inside (I think we estimated almost $500 and they gave me a check that day) and they gave me a new piece of luggage that their flight crew uses. They've also sent my luggage to the wrong place before too.
:hammer:

However, I think that can happen with any airline and other than the luggage problem, Delta was fine.

Song is Delta with ugly multicolored seats where you have to pay for a meal on baord. Other than that, there is no real difference.

Other than their flights are usually half empty. Get a seat torwards the back and you often have the whole row to yourself.

Atlanta is to Delta as Houston to Continental... hehe.

Never had any problem flying with Delta. They also partner with Aeromexico which claims to be the most punctual airline in the world, and believe me, it´s true. :animwink: You´ll be fine, have a good trip!

Just got off Delta last night after a great trip to Disneyland. From John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA, to Dallas-Ft. Worth yesterday, it was a horrible trip. We took one of those little commuter planes (CRJ-700) which you have to board and get off outside. Well, those planes were so small that I couldn't even fit my laptop carry-on rolling case into the overhead compartment. I still don't know why they use such a small, 20-row plane for a 4 hour flight. Other than that, they are pretty good. You should be fine. You can also look up what type of plane you will be flying on by looking it up on their website. Enjoy your trip! :D

We jusr returned from a cruise, and Delta was great! On the trip home we had a 6:55 pm flight. We were off the ship and at the airport at 10:45 am. We were able to get an earlier flight for $25 pp, which was well worth it.

Then when it was time to board, we find out that delta brought in a bigger plane from orlando (to tampa) to accomodate all of the passengers that requested earlier flights. I was very impressed with their service. The plane that they brought in was a Song plane, but the captain emphasized that it was a delta flight with a delta crew.

Delta is my favorite airline! I think they are great!
