When I was there last year as we were waiting in the outdoor queue @A foolish mortal and I both noticed this at the same time. It was playing the Golden Dreams sequence form the Epcot 82 loop, so its been there for at least a year or so.

This has me so interested now! I never knew they played this loop until today. I need to check this out next time I head out to Disneyland! Unfortunately, I have no idea when I will be back.As a classic EPCOT fan, this is extremely fascinating to me!
Im all about classic Epcot (as I used to work there) as well so as soon as I heard it I was excited haha

Yup.. the Space Mountain concourse loop has a lot of old EPCOT Center in it! You can hear it in the queue outside and they also play it in the restrooms at SM exit. Been that way for a very long time now...
According to this thread (which already goes back 11 yrs to 2005), the loop was first introduced back in 1995!

I had no idea they used this loop at Disneyland for so long! Such a nice detail that most casual guests would never notice or know the significance of!
Yep, I love that it's still played there. That whole little corner where the outside of the Pizza Port is and the ramp upstairs to the queue is very EPCOT-y in general. I love that they've pretty much left it alone over the years.

I wish they didn't turn that area into Space Mountain's fast pass and queue entrance. It was suppose to be a walk up food service area called the Space Place. You could then walk up and watch the Space Stage performance as you ate.
I know... never got a chance to eat there, would have been nice to have another place to get some grub in TL. Maybe once they finally get rid of paper FPs we can have it back!

Nice! Also kind of cool is that DL's Tomorrowland also uses WDW's Tomorrowland loop which contains pieces of 'If You Had Wings' and "Now Is The time' -- neither of which ever made their way to Anaheim!
