December Trip?

I need some good, honest opinions and info :-)

My brother and I have always wanted to go during Xmas Time but school has always screwed that up. His final exam schedule at college will allow us to go the week starting with New Years, Jan 2 thru 8.

I hear that the week between Xmas and New Years is the worst time to go. But, one of the lightest in attendance all year is the week after New Years Day. Are these true?

Can you give me PROS and CONS of going to the World the week beginning with Jan 2? Will the Xmas stuff still be up? We'll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside, as usual!!!!

Thanks!

Was there on Jan. 2, 2002...Basically had the parks to ourselves. I think the longest wait for any attaraction was 10 minutes (for rockin' Rller Coaster). To give you some idea, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean 6 times in a row, in our own boat. The downside is the weather is unpredictable. When I was there it was only in the high 60's - low 70's, so we passed on the water rides. The one morning it was actually in the 40's until about noon. I've been there before a week later and it's been 80 degrees, so you never can tell. From a crowd stand point, though, it is a great time to go if you really want to get a lot done and see everything.
