December in WDW

Hi

I hae just returned to england from WDW, and already looking to go again, missing the world and the weather already nothing but rain since we landed yesterday!!

Can anyone tell me the quietest time to visit in november or december? What the weather is like during this time? and from which date the chrsitmas decorations will be put up in all the parks?

Many thanks

The parks are much busier this time of year than they used to be so I wouldn't say there really is a quiet time anymore. If you want to see Christmas decorations and avoid the largest crowds you should go sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year Thanksgiving is on Thursday the 27th of November and next year it's the 26th.
My family usually tries to go for a long weekend the 1st or 2nd week in December. The crowds can be heavy but still manageable. As far as the weather goes it can get into the 80's during the day and it does get cool at night.
According to the Disney website the first Christmas party is the 10th of November and Holidays around the World at Epcot start the 28th and I would imagine the Christmas events at other parks would start around the same time.

thanks for the info - would you say the parks are busier in those weeks after thanks giving than in may when i have just returned - most ride times in may was about 25 minutes - with soarin and test track being the worst at 70 minutes, although fast pass was always the good option

You can never ever be sure, but this past year it was really busy the week of Christmas thru the first week of the year. I had friends visit during this time and the wait lines were the worst, in Epcot anyway, than in the summer(at least it seemed like it :) ). And since Epcot can hold a lot more guests than the other parks I think it's safe to say the wait times were worse everywhere else. I agree that the first few weeks in December is the best way to go.

In 2006, we went for Christmas. We were there Dec. 16 thru 22. The first few days were fine, lines were really not bad, but around the 20th, the crowds rolled in. The lines were longer, but still, were tolerable. The counter service restaurants were what was bad. If you tried to get a meal anywhere between 11 & 2, you tended to wait a while, and most likely you wouldn't find a table.

Due to sister's 2 boys, we didn't get to enjoy any of the Christmas festivities. We're going back for this Christmas, but a week earlier
(13-19). Hopefully, this will work for us!!

This is a great time or year to go as we go around the first week of December (will be there the 2nd thru the 9th this year). The only thing I caution is that the week of December 7th thru the 13th is the Pop Warner Football (us) and cheerleading championships so the parks are going to be slightly busier. If you go that time I would stay away from the All Star Sports and Port Orleans as that is where most of the teams stay and it can be very busy and quite loud from what I understand.

Beginning the week after Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November) through about December 19 is your best bet for lower crowds.
After that, the heavier Christmas week crowds start building up.

The weather will be different from May. Could be very cold, or not.
Watch the Orlando weather reports a few weeks before your trip. See the Weather button at the top of
this web site.

We go a lot in December. WDW is wonderful at Christmas time.
It's a combination of Christmas and Disney.

Good luck.

How come on the Disney website when you try to book accomendations, there appears to be very little available. Now, I have a party of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids) and would like to book a Villa, but again, nothing seems available thru Disney.
