December attendance in the World

Hoping to attend in December. In year past, with the exception of Christmas week, December was a great time to go to Disney World. From everything I've been seeing online and reading, it appears that the week before Christmas week (for 2014 - Dec 14 - 20) is more crowded than the summer months. Can anyone elaborate on this from past experience?

I have been that same week for the last 5 years. Is it busier than a summer month? No. Is it busy? Yes, but manageable. Crowds start getting heavier towards the end of that week and grow until the insanely busy Christmas to New Year's week. We are unable to go that week this year but I would not hesitate to go ~ have fun! And welcome to WDWMagic!

To us it is not very busy at all! It does not really pick up crowd wise until 23rd or so depending which day of the week Christmas is and when schools let out etc. We love anytime until about the 22nd-23rd. Nothing like the summer months and don't know why anyone says that. Lol. We went last year and left around 12/20 and crowds were low-medium.

Try going Christmas Day into New Year

We did in 2008 and we had a blast - yes it was busy but it was fun. If you arrive knowing that the crowds are going to be worse than any other time of year, then you can't disappointed when you tackle them head on.

Your very brave Captain!!!!Lol I would love to go one day especially for New Years BUT we instead go early-mid December to enjoy all the festivities but with a lot more manageable crowds! Lol
