December 17-23

As a few of you may know, we had to cancel our May 2014 WDW trip. Well, now it seems we may be able to go December 17-23. We've never been to WDW any other month besides March and July. Here are my questions:

1. What are the crowds like in comparison to March (Spring Break) and July? From the crowd calenders I have found, it seems that the first four days of our trip would be the normal crowds, with the last three days being pretty packed.
2. What clothing should we pack for a not-quite-two-year-old for December weather in Florida?

Thanks guys!

We have been to WDW during your dates and it is true that the closer you get to Christmas, the busier it gets (with the week between Christmas and New Years absolutely packed.) You should find it comparable to July.

December weather can REALLY fluctuate, so it is best to check weather.com a week or so before you leave. Average days are 60s and 70s, but 80s are possible and so is bone chilling cold...in 2010, it was in the 20s with wind chill in the teens! (Rare, yes, but it happens. We froze.) Layers are great. No matter the daytime temps, you will need a light jacket at night. And a blanket for your toddler.

It is a FUN time of year to visit even with the crowds!

Hi!! We went this time last year and going again this year. It is beautiful!!!

Hot during the day and chilly in the evenings.

Crowds were not so bad. It will get busy as your trip goes. Dads disney guide is right on as far as crowd levels.

We expect crowds during the weekend to be very heavy and remind ourselves to sit back and enjoy. We are not planners and love to be flexible. It's just wonderful to take in all the Christmas beauty.

We have worn winter coats in December around Christmas and even at that we were cold and we are from Indiana! Be prepared for any kind of weather. Crowds closer to the big day are worse, earlier it is not too bad.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I have been many times in Dec and the weather is VERY unpredictable!! Pack for every kind of weather even if the forecast says one thing it can change in an instant. One trip we had every kind of weather possible, freezing cold, hot, rainy, cool, etc, etc. So while looking at the weather prior can give you some idea do not rely on that. I am from south Louisiana so our weather is pretty much the same as at WDW and changes often at that time of year. You can wear shorts one day, and by the next day you are wearing heavy winter coats! Lol It is our fave time to go and you will enjoy it. :)

We went last year at this time and left just before Christmas (20th). The crowds were not bad at all except at the Osborne Lights. Couldn't even turn around. Weather was great for us. Like the above thread said, it was cool at night and I had to buy a jacket at one of the parks. We booked our fastpass+ ahead of time but didn't use them a couple of days. Didn't need to. I'd say the crowds where about like they are on October if you have ever gone that time of year.

We did Dec 18-22 a couple of years ago, and it was only maybe the last day and a half that we really started to feel the heaviness of the crowds. So most of your trip should be good.

Weather, yes, super unpredictable. The nights get cool. Light layers will likely be your best friend for this trip.

We were there during your dates last year and will go back this year.. It was nice... Crowds were not too bad but got busy before we left...And it was hot! We were told it was a record high for that time of year so goes to show you never know about weather.
Hope you have a great trip!
