Dec. deluxe discounts...and should I change our plan?

We have a split stay booked at CBR 11/26-12/1 and CSR 12/1 and 12/2.
I'm debating changing to Wilderness Lodge those last 2 nights. I think it would be amazing to stay there during the holiday season. At current rates ($433/ night) it would cost an extra $450 which is a lot, but we are getting the CBR gift card card deal and free dining, so I'm really tempted to make the switch. I'm not sure when else we'd have the chance to stay at WL, something I've always wanted to do. Pros of CSR are price, pool and new rooms....but not sure we'd get a new room or be able to swim in Dec.

I'm debating waiting to book at WL until Fall room discounts are released, but am worried if I do so, it'll get booked up. (FD only applies to the first leg of our stay, so we could take advantage of a room-only discount). If I do change the booking now, and a RO discount comes out, do you just call to have the price adjusted? Or would it be considered a new reservation?

Also, I know this is totally subjective....but do you think WL would be worth the extra $$? Our last 2 days, we will be at the parks most of the time.

I CANNOT decide whether to change :/

Personally, if you are in the parks most of the time, I wouldn't do it.

Yes, you'd have to call to get the Fall rate. But there's no guarantee that they can convert your full rate reservation to a discounted rate one, since it all depends on how many rooms will be available at that rate.

Visit the Mousesaver's website to see when Disney has announce those rates in the past and set a reminder, because the rooms will go fast. Also be aware that the entire South wing is now DVC, so the inventory of standard rooms has been reduced.

My advice? Keep your current reservation and check to see if you can switch to WL when the discounts are announced. Unless you don't mind mind paying full rate at WL.....

Thank you, great advice. I just looked at the Mousesavers site and last year, RO discounts weren't released for our date until August and the 2 years prior, it was end of July. I'll keep my eyes open for discounts, then decide. Appreciate the advice!

You're welcome! And good luck.

WL is gorgeous at the holidays. Am curious to see how they will decorate the new cabins. Hopefully the resort will be decorated when I'm there the first weekend in November.

I always go for the cheaper lodging option. We don't normally spend most of our time in the hotel room. So why pay for anything more than a value resort for a room to sleep in at night? They all have huge pools and other activities. It's all good.
