I will be sneaking in some dried fruit and nuts. I've been doing this in a false-bottomed purse but will now be putting them in my pockets.

I realize this is against the rules. I'm even telling you how I do it.

Catch me if you can!!

Sincerely,

Pseudo Criminal

Who said its not allowed in the park? Small snacks are allowed in just fine. There is no problem with bringing in some nuts and fruit. People bring in small snacks all the time.

Yeah you can bring in a small cooler into the park. Heck at the entrance they have a picture of the size of cooler you can bring in.

There are HUGE signs saying you can't bring in any food. They also state that if you have food allergies, you should discuss it with them and they'll try to work with you. Well, they were there. Have they come down?

Big, giant signs, like I've never seen anywhere. I've gone to great lengths to hide my contraband, lol. I figured they wouldn't put up such large signs if they didn't mean it.

I think it's silly of them (hence my post) and would like to be able to just bring stuff in. I got my Christmas booklet yesterday and was talking about doing that stuff with a friend and thinking about how glad I was that it's winter now, so I can put stuff in my jacket pockets...and how silly it is that I have to sneak in a rice cake, like a terrorist or something.

I'm glad to know that they will let me take my stuff in and I can stop feeling like a criminal who might get caught.

Excellent and Thank You! :D

Exactly what OFTEric said. For the many years I have been going they have never said no small snacks. Its supposed to be individual size small snacks. Not a full meal. So you have nothing to hide.

I will get a picture of the cooler image next time I head into the park this weekend to share.

going into seaworld today I to was confused see all the signs saying no food allowed. but didn't expect them to be enforcing it,when the bag checkers told us we would have to return 2 sandwiches back to our car due new policy, we complained saying our daughter has strict dietary requirements and the supervisor allowed us to go through. aquatica also had the signs but the bag checkers were not so strict.

Dear seaworld if you want to make more money selling food, there must be more ways than forcing people to buy.

Let me look into this further for you.

Just a quick update. Went to aquatica today and they refused entry due to 3 sandwiches. The superviser said they would allow 1 sandwitch for my terminally ill daughter but the rest off us would have to put the food in the car. So I gave up got a parking refund and took the family to blizard beach.

I did find it quite funny that I told them seaworld allowed us and they said they are not associated with seaworld. Lol

Okay, the people in front of me in line at bag check the other day were told they had to throw out their sandwiches or return them to their car. They pointed at the sign about the coolers. They also did a whole "We can't speak English" thing for a minute. But the guy wasn't budging. He was going to get someone to translate when they had a remarkable breakthrough in their language abilities.

He said snacks were okay, but not food. He actually said that, lol, as if snacks weren't food...which doesn't make much sense in any language, I thought. I wondered what a translator would have done with that.

Especially not bread, he said, as it is dangerous for the animals because it attracts the kind of animals that shouldn't be there. Nothing with bread. He was very serious.

I wanted to ask if pretzels were okay, but I didn't want to see the poor kid have a stroke. I forgot my snacks, anyway.

Someone should tell him that Sea World serves bread all over the place. You can get a hot dog and just walk off with all that dangerous bread.

I think there may be some inconsistencies.

If one wants to bring in a sandwich, one might want to be sneaky about it.

All I have ever seen them allowing is small snack size items. Not anything that would make a meal. People are also allowed juice boxes but it cant have a straw. i have never had any questions raised with the snack items I have brought in. I have seen a family on Saturday who tried to bring in their bags of subway subs. Thats not allowed.

How can you drink a juice box without a straw?

Take a little pair of scissors or an army knife and poke a hole in it, then squirt it into your mouth by squeezing.

Trying to open those things is a nightmare.

Kids don't do well with the squirting, so a cup is a good idea, if they give them out.

Or just stop at the circle-K and get a bottle of water. :)

Just keep in mind the little scissors or army knife will either be took by security or tell you to return it to the car. You cannot enter the park with it. I had a friend who had a glass bottle of perfume in her purse and they made her take it back to the car because of hurting animals if it got broke.

Yes they will give you a cup if you ask. Go up to any location with drinks and they will give you a small cup to pour it in.

I can totally understand the "No glass" rule. It makes sense anywhere there are a bunch of kids, even without the animals.

And it is SO important in pool areas!!!

"Bread is dangerous for the animals..." doesn't make as much sense, lol. I think that kid made that up. The couple did start arguing how it could be dangerous for the animals. He just went back to it not being allowed in.

I was kind of interested in the whole thing...but kind of just wanted them to peek in my bag and let me through, too.

At most, I take a granola bar (in it's foil wrapper), a rice cake and some dried fruit (like Craisins) and maybe nuts. I don't usually take all of that at once, though. :)

I'm going to stop hiding it and see how it goes. (Or maybe put one in the purse and one in the pocket, so I have one to surrender, if need be...see how that goes. :))

They ALWAYS let me take my water n. I don't even try to hide that.
