DDP/DDE Confusion

So, I am an AP holder and was conflicted about the best way to go. We tend to eat character breakfast for 5 mornings, table service each night, and not huge lunch eaters. We might split one meal or something light. For dinner we usually split and app and dessert. What is my best $ saver? Should I not do the dining plan and just do the DDE. IF you do both, how does that work if you are only paying for your tip?

If you're doing a character meal AND a table service meal every day, I'd definitely say you should go with the DDE. Also the DDP doesn't include appetizer or alcohol (if that's at all important to you.)
And I doubt you can use both together.
Just my quick two cents

DDE works best for us. It's a no hassle discount, almost everywhere we eat. We enjoy signature dining, use the concierge lounge for breakfast, no lunch or a little snack, DDP is either too many credits or not enough...I did the math:)

Well, you can use the DDP and the DDE together, but they don't affect each other... If you're on the Dining Plan and order extra food/drinks/alcohol that isn't covered by the Plan, you can use the DDE for a discount on the non-Plan items.

I'll be doing this in September. We'll be on the DDP and I'll have an Annual Pass. But I have another trip or two planned over the following year where we *won't* be on the Dining Plan, so I'll get the DDE card to cover anything extra we might buy on this trip, and use it for the other trips, too.

But as mentioned above, if you're planning on two Table Service meals each day, the DDE is most likely your best value.
