DCA refurbishment?

I have been thinking of going to DL for the first time but I recently heard that there is a 1 billion dollar refurbishment of DCA going on. (probably old news to everyone but I don't follow DL news as much as WDW news)
I was wondering what exactly they are doing and when they expect to be done. Should I postpone my trip until it is finished.

Yes, it needs it.

And it's the first time in Disney theme park history that such a massive undertaking happened. Arguably, it's also the first time in theme park history, Disney or non-Disney, that such a thing were to take place. Especially just 7 years after the place opened with much fanfare.

The DCA Extreme Makeover is really unprecedented in its scale and scope.
