Congratulations to DCA; it was just crowned Theme Park of the Year by Amusement Today.:) A big thanks to all those who contributed to the beautification of the park!

As people may or may not know, there have been complaints of Mater's being a little painful, due to the sliding and hitting the sides of the vehicles. Padding will go in next month. More info in the link:

Angels Stadium's lease will end in 2016, and a possible move to the City of Industry is being considered. I have a hard time believing this will actually happen, considering they'd be right next to the Dodgers basically and the football stadium LA is supposed to be getting (not official just yet). If this does happen, I wonder if Disney would pay for the Angels property? I highly doubt it, but who knows? Interesting to think about.

My son bumped his head on the side of Maters Ride. Left a big red mark. I breifly told the CM as we walked out, you need padding on the sides, we didn't complain, just kept walking. Said the same thing on here a couple of times. Looks like I wasn't the only one that thought so. BTW, my son (4) still really enjoyed the ride and didn't really care, getting bumped up was part of the fun, like wrestling with his brother.

Your poor son! Even though he enjoyed it, it's still dangerous. Glad you had a good time, either way. Hopefully the padding will fix the problem.

It's funny, every time I see videos of this it looks so slow... must not be huh?

It is pretty slow, but every once in awhile it does whip pretty strong to one side. If you watch right at the very end of the video you see a woman and man slide to one side. The seat is slick metal and the side is metal. So a little kid who does not hold on the the lap bar can slide down the bench and hit the side, when they get to the end the head keeps going and wham.

Wow, that stadium property is really, really interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if just the possibility of getting that land pauses some of the capital/infrastructure projects Disney is planning. From my eyeballing, it's bigger than Disneyland or DCA. Connecting it to the rest of the resort would obviously be the biggest problem, but that much land potentially available has to have Disney salivating. I'd say the most likely result other than Disney is for the land to get subdivided for hotels and condos... it's very possible Disney would never see this much land go up for sale around Disneyand ever again. I've always thought that the strawberry fields/Toy Story parking lot area was a little small for a third park, but with this you could just throw a parking garage there and easily build a new theme park on the stadium lot.

Or a DVC and a water park. I have always wondered if a Disney water park would work in the DLR area. But that will also mean coming up with a transportation system between the two areas.

It really is a lot of property and another park could easily go there but gosh, I hope they don't move! The area they're looking at is already too crowded. I don't want Disney property, whether it's a park or a parking garage, to be that far away.

Disneylanders aren't fond of a Disney water park. Soak City is a good 10-15 minute drive away and the only time water parks here are open is during the summer. It would be kind of a waste, not to mention the beach isn't too far away. An indoor water park is being built right by the resort anyway. No need for a water park.

It would be a big gamble, no doubt. They could also try moving as many behind-the-scenes operations as possible to the stadium property...TDA building, horse stables, cast parking, etc. to the stadium area to allow the maximum area possible to expand at Disneyland, DCA and the Toy Story lot. If they laid it out right, they would probably still have enough land for another park there in the distant, distant future. I know Al has already talked about moving the Circle D ranch as something that may happen with the Frontierland expansion that is coming.

Now that I'd be okay with! Moving TDA. The TDA building is huge on the outside and the inside, not to mention the parking lot and the cafeteria. That'd be enough room for an entirely new land.
