California Adventure did another great Midnight show, just prior to the third World of Color performance of the night on New Year's Eve this year. And new this year was the ability of the Glow With The Show ears to interact with the Midnight show as well.

Here's a great video of World of Color ringing in the new year at Disney California Adventure.

2012 was an amazing year for DCA and the Disneyland Resort. It was one of those years that will stick in memories for a long time, like Disneyland opening in 1955, New Tomorrowland & Pirates of the Caribbean opening in 1967, New Fantasyland opening in 1983, or the 50th Anniversary in 2005.

I was a big critic of DCA when it first opened and through most of the last decade. But I never could have dreamed how great it would have turned out by 2012. Bravo to all the CM's and Imagineers and Executives who made it happen, and here's to a great 2013 for the stunningly remade Disney California Adventure! :)

Yeah, they always do a good job with the World of Color technology for the Midnight show. They change it up a bit each year.

Meanwhile, on the other side of DCA, the Mad T Party in Hollywood Land had its own countdown and its own fireworks and light show off the rooftops of Hollywood Land.

And about 100 yards north of that, there's a little local theme park called Disneyland.

Disneyland goes a more traditional route than DCA, although with snazzy digital projections on the castle and some neat lighting. But at Disneyland it's all about the fireworks, and they do the "Fantasy In The Sky" show at Midnight, after the Believe In Holiday Magic show earlier at 9:00PM.

Here's a good video taken last night from the end of Main Street looking towards the castle. Funny thing is that you can see the Mad T Party fireworks show reflecting back off the Main Street buildings, since Hollywood Land is literally just 100 yards or so to the south from the Main Street USA Town Square.

At least you were able to see the shows this year :D

Ah, I knew I recognized the WoC show....same one from last year! 2010 still had the best show, imo.
