(12/21) The OCRegister has a new article today where they outline the upcoming entertainment lineup for DCA next year.

- First on the list is Pixar Play Parade, which will go on hiatus starting January 3 and will return in November 2011. The parade will be put on hold due to construction in the park's parade route and entrance.

- In place of the parade, a new mini-show concept will debut: Pixar Pop-Ups. These roaming shows will perform throughout the park and will be themed to different Pixar movies.

- elecTRONica has been extended indefinitely (previous closing date was April 2011.)

- Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage will have its last performance on January 23rd. Its replacement, Disney Junior – Live on Stage, will open later in the Spring.

- The Blue Sky Cellar will be updated with a brand-new exhibit that will open Jan. 27th.

In other parade news, the return of DCA's Pixar Play Parade has now been pushed back until the summer of 2012 due to tightening construction timelines.

Disney Parks Talent Casting is seeking Female and Male Singer/Actors for two brand new shows to be performed outdoors at Disney California Adventure® Park: Minnie’s Fly Girls Charter Airlines, a four-member charter airline crew that sings and swings to songs from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, and The Friendly Sisters, a talented trio from the Midwest who epitomize the innocent, optimistic “can-do” America of the 1920s. Cast will perform in both shows daily.
Rehearsals for Minnie’s Fly Girls Charter Airlines are scheduled to begin January 2012, show is scheduled to open in February. Rehearsals for The Friendly Sisters are scheduled to begin May 2012, show is scheduled to open in June. Please note, all dates are subject to change.
Roles:
Seeking performers of all ages, ethnicities and body types.
FEMALES: Singers of all ranges, various character types (funny, sexy, bright, clueless …), ability to think on your feet, great with audience interaction and creating stories with guests, ensemble of singers who can deliver tight harmonies with music and a cappella, each performer will be asked to sing lead on at least one song, strong movement skills are a must.
MALES: Crooner (baritone), moves well, an endearing “flight controller” with a sense of humor who adores “Minnie’s Fly Girls”, sings lead and back-up harmonies, interacts with Guests.

Hopefully the Pixar Play Parade returning in summer 2012 is wrong and it returns sooner.
