Duffy has fallen in love with the high seas. This special bear can often be found strolling around Duffy's Landing in Paradise Pier, near the Treasures In Paradise store. Gazing at the waters, he awaits Mickey to take him on his next expedition. Snap a photo with him at The Cove with Mickey's Fun Wheel in the background. Duffy loves taking pictures with new friends!

So far it seems to be a success based on reports from several CMs, with several items selling out throughout the day. And of course, it's been a big hit with Japanese tourists! Disney is selling various US-Exclusive items, so the japanese guests who already love Duffy are going crazy for the merch.

Duffy is so incredibly cute. I was so upset to not be able to reserve a spot at the Duffy Passholder Preview at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago. But a friend of mine is going to WDW this week and will be picking up Duffy and his sailor outfit for me.

A recent update on Duffy from Al Lutz:

The Merchandise team has been tasked with getting Duffy off the ground in America by any means possible, so a considerable sum was quickly pushed forward to build a bigger meet n’ greet area where Duffy can stand alongside Mickey to try and cement in people’s minds that Duffy is associated with Mickey and you better darn well fall in love with him as much as your credit limit will allow.

The new Meet-and-Greet was completed earlier this week. They dressed up the gazebo with new nautical decor and added trees/planters to the area. Mickey is also now sporting his Sailor attire -

Haha I was at Epcot last Friday and while it was pretty busy there, I NEVER saw more than three people in line to see Duffy. As for any of the other characters around the park...TONS!

I hope this failure blows up in their face and they send Duffy packing. :ROFLOL:
