DCA and RSR

So we have just arrived home from our trip to DL and DCA.

I went to DCA about 4 years ago and thought it was pretty weak on the list of Disney Parks IMO....

However, project sparkle makes this park SHINE!
What a difference.... not just Carsland (which I will get on to in a minute) but the whole park.
I would now put this up there with DHS (which I ADORE) I might even have to say it now surpasses DHS.

The whole place just works, I don't know how they've done it but it clicks now.

The one gripe I have is walking through Bugs Land to get to Hollywood was a pain and poorly sign posted.

Carsland:

I was sceptical about Carsland.... read my previous posts.

I'm not a fan of the Cars franchise and thought it was basically a vehicle (pardon the pun) to sell more toys to boys!

Yet, entering Carsland my eyes lit up... as If I too were a boy again.
Detail, theming and beauty like this hasn't been seen in a Disney park since... well I'm not even sure when and to see this thing at night is truly beautiful.

RSR:

I had heard good things about this ride but again I wasn't expecting too much....

but wow, just wow.... this is the best ride created by Disney since Tower of Terror... possibly since Indy or Splash Mnt.

We rode it 4 times and I loved it more and more every time. If only I was a kid or had kids to take on it. The ride is beautiful, it's a class A attraction Disney back on form.
The dark ride portions are fantastic, the rock work deserves an award and the race at the end is the icing on the cake.

It's an instant classic and WDW NEEDS this ride.... this is as good as any of the mountains duplicated across the parks all over the world.

I miss this ride already.

Sounds like you had a great time! RSR really is wonderful, it's hard to walk off that ride without a big smile on your face. WDI did an amazing job, especially when they are able to impress people who are not Cars fans! Even those who don't love Cars will have a great time.

Glad you enjoyed it! I really hope RSR and Carsland comes over to DHS. I live in NY so flying across the country isn't something I can afford , unless I give up my WDW trip which isn't an option for me :o

Seriously, you will probably still like WDW better, but you won't regret a trip to Disneyland.

I've always thought that DL and WDW were a close call but we were disappointed with DL this time...

Mainly because they had THREE E-tickets closed on the same day with little/no warning!

Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and Indianna Jones (we knew but were bitterly disappointed in the latter)

I just felt like DL cater much more for the AP holders and not for the once in a lifetimers like WDW do.... Ironically I do WDW most years and DL I have only ever done twice before!

We actually had a fantastic day at Universal....

I would probably say we enjoyed Universal more then DL then DCA.

Aaaww Suller, I would have TOTALLY met up with you guys somewhere if I knew you wanted me around!:( I've got an USH pass and I most likely could have met up with you anywhere else you went. I don't just show up, unless someone asks me, because I feel it's kind of rude without asking the person first. Why didn't you say anything?:(

No, he's not on the boards. He's not a fanatic like we are. It sounds like you had a great vacation:) I haven't even done the Warner Bros Tour. How was that?

Warner bros was fantastic.

I've don't it before and it's different Everytime, we had a fat guide and saw them filming LOTS.
Including hang over 3!

We saw a load of famous people too who were all super nice including Cheryl from "curb your enthusiasm"!

You should do it but make sure you book as we arrived at 10 am and hey we're fully booked so had to come back the next day...

I LOVE LA I want to live there but the traffic BLOWS I was supposed to be meeting Kevin and Bean who I listen to EVERYDAY here in the UK but traffic meant it took 2.5 hrs to get from orange county to KROQ.

Wow, you were very lucky on that tour! Although there is always filming going on at these studios, it'ss not always guaranteed you will see one person, let alone many. Good for you! Did you see anyone from Hangover 3, or did your guide just inform you the filming that was going on was from Hangover 3? Lucky you saw Cheryl Hines! I love her!

One of these days I'm going to take the tour. I'm always at Paramount, Universal or Disney Studios, but never Warner Bros. I need to switch it up a little.

Definitely. Traffic here sucks and it takes up so much time. Without traffic it takes me 25-35 minutes to get to the Disneyland Resort from my house. It shouldn't take me an hour to get there, but unfortunately it does sometimes. Are you thinking of moving here, or is it just a fantasy?

Nice!

I consider Burbank, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Pasadena, Culver City, etc. nice places to live. As far as affordability goes, were you looking to live in an apartment or a house?
