Love Daytona and will be there in a few weeks!! Next time you hit a movie, you should check out Bubba Gump's for dinner.

Thanks for the report!

Daytona Beach

Here is a trip report to the Daytona Beach Boardwalk/Pier if anyone is interested in seeing some classic beachside amusement fun...

My mom lives in Daytona Beach, but doesn't do much of the tourist stuff. I've been trying to find something fun to do there, with a 2 year old, but haven't seen much online. If anyone has more info, I'd be interested in hearing it. We're not race car fans so going to the speedway isn't really in our plans. We'll be going in September. DH, me, and 2 year old DD. Also, mom doesn't get around very well (trouble walking) so good parking near the attraction would be helpful too. Does this boardwalk/pier thing have anything for 2 year olds?

Hmm, good question - I had my two year old nephew with me last year. Besides building sand castles and swimming in the pool, I took him down to Ponce Inlet where they have the sea turtle rescue place and took him to play putt-putt at night when it was cooler. Rented a golf cart (was afraid to take him on a 4 wheeler) and drove up the beach. Took him to a nearby beach (can't remember the name, it's connected to a nude beach) which was loaded with huge sea shells and spent some time collecting shells. Can't remember anything he was into at the pier........we had dinner at Bubba Gumps and then went shopping.

And of course, I took him to Magic Kingdom one day while in Daytona - and it was excellent cause it rained til 4pm = really light crowds!!!

Hope you have a great time!
