Sorry, only just seen this post and think you may already be there...
Just in case, tours go from outside Hotel New York. This page gives information on the tours. We are going on Sunday and plan to try to get on one of the tours, but aren't 100% sure as to whether we can go on the tour - we are staying at the Holiday Inn just down the road from Explorers.
