We have used the off airport check in for our southwest flight on our last trip and were planning on using again next week for our Delta flight and saw on the website you can now check in 24 hours in advance. Has anyone used the advanced check-in and if so how does it work cause it didn't say on their website.

For Delta, the 24 hour check-in is online. You can check-in and print your tickets. It's for any flight, not just Disney related ones.
As far as checking bags and getting tickets at the resort for Delta, I've done that too. It will work the same as it did for your Southwest flight.

On-line check-in wth your airline and resort check-in at WDW are two separate things.
If your airline allows on-line check-in you can do so, but you won't be able to check your bags until the day you're travelling, either at the resort check-in desk for participating airlines on domestic flights or at the airport otherwise.

I believe they are referring to www.offairportcheckin.com that is located just outside Disney at the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. We have used the service twice before when not staying at Disney and yes you can check in for your flight the day before your departure you just have to call first and make a reservation.
