Day 6-back to MK

Cast members:

Me (hubby): planner, schemer, web surfer, bean counter, Disney commando and generally a lazy, cheap, beer drinking bum.

DS-(also known as -wifey)-over worked, under paid, semi commando Disney fan-- as long as someone else does the planning,

TTS (also known as darling son)-Typical Teenage Son-15 years old and knows everything, won't admit how much he likes Disney cause he's gotta be 'cool'

Thursday: RING....RING.......RING.......RING......Hmmmm-I wonder if it open season for that mouse and someone named Stitch? We had decided to go back to Magic Kingdom to do what we had missed the day before. We had purchased a pass for our TTS to Disney Quest and since MK is his least favorite park we allowed him to sleep in, go to DQ and meet us later at Epcot. Hehehehehe...pay back time-I got a wake up call for our TTS at 9:25 and then another at 9:45, set the radio alarm for 9:50 and the buzzer alarm for 9:55-I'm SURE he'll enjoy figuring out how to turn off the alarms.

This time we were at the park by 8:20 and in the front group. We got to ride everything we had missed or wanted to do again with minimal lines and wait times. We were walking around the castle as we were leaving and I looked at the 'official' looking person passing us-he had a TGM pin on and a name tag that said "Mike" could that have been the most excellent source of info known as "Tour guide Mike"??? By now it's 12:15 and crowds are POURING in-jump on the monorail head over to Epcot (anyone want to guess what our favorite park is?).

Once again fast pass for Soarin, check the return time so we know when to get out next set. Back over to Crush at the Living seas--what a great show this is!!! The TTS was talking about the juggling sticks in China so wifey suggests we go over and surprise him with a set-get there and they are just under $20 (for three sticks?? What a great deal!!! (NOT). I suggested we look around a little before we buy them and wander in the China pavilion as we pass the area with the ornamental swords I said if we really want to surprise him how about we get him those? (Have I lost my mind? A set of three razor sharp swords for a 15 year old?) We bounced over to Japan to look at their swords and England to look at theirs but liked the ones in China the best so we went back and bought them.

We let our TTS choose dinner tonight and he decided upon the Coral Reef again (no prob. We love the food and atmosphere). 3 Lobster soups, TTS had the Scallops and Shrimp with a side of mashed potatoes, wifey had shrimp, I had the Filet and added a lobster tail, beer and wine all around. Saved $30.04 with the DDE card-saved now a total of $116.97 of course we used the excuse of "I don't mind buying this-it's basically free with what we save with the dining card" we probably spent what we 'saved' 16 times over the week.

After dinner we just happened to end up at China shopping-as we walked past the swords I said to our son "those are nice-do you like them?" (Like there is any chance of him saying "no dad-those look dangerous I'd prefer a pink umbrella with my name on it."). After we looked at them for a few minutes I looked at him and said "that set will be delivered to our house in about 10 days-mom and I wanted you to have something special from the trip" Now if I had any idea of what was going to happen next I would have bought him something EVERY day; he broke out in a huge smile and said "WOW!! Thanks dad you are so cool" and gave me a hug-yep a real hug-right there in public-right in front of everybody-I thought I was going to cry. After the paramedics came and restarted my heart I looked up as he gave a hug and a kiss on the cheek to mom and she almost cried. We once again felt the need to help give those poor lost souls manning the beer stations something to do so we proceeded to sample the beers around the world-I wonder if they could use a professional (such as me) to do quality analysis of these assorted libations on a daily basis? Once again we were one of the last to leave the park.

Checked the pedometer and this was a lazy day-on 16.8 miles today-we'll try to pick up the pace Friday.

 well, I suppose we all have a least favourite park and life would be boring if we all liked / disliked the same  - just glad its not EPCOT he dislikes.
Nice report (again)

Awesome report. My son got in to swords at that age, too. If it makes you feel any better, he only needed stitches once and now that he's 18 and dating, swords aren't as attractive anymore. LOL
