OMG!!!! I love this show. Did you just hear that joke... "We would show you the Muffin Fight, but its to expensive for a cheap show like this" HAHA...this show is awesome, and the animation aint as bad as Kim or Proud (the mouths actually move with the words). Its almost "Simpson-Like"
Wow...I feel dumb for doubting this show. It's so "Simpson Like". What do they keep saying..."Kajabbers?"...I love his sword, how keeps saying "Cutting the Muffin sounds nasty". I hope Disney Channel gets as much publicity and popularity it deserves with this. It shows that some people at Walt Disney Television Animation take their time with jokes and animation.
If you were turned off by the advertising as I was, give it a chance. Sit down and watch one episode
I love the jokes like when they ask a character about something and they be like "Nope, sorry, came in a few scenes ago, and that was in the beginning of the episode"...
or the joke they said right now, about Dave falling in love with the evil princess, and they go "We must try to fall in love...or the episode will be entirely to short" hahaha...2 1/2 more episodes to go
If you were turned off by the advertising as I was, give it a chance. Sit down and watch one episode

I just saw one episode, and man is it great! Some of the jokes are so clever and nothing like Nickelodian would make. It's one of those things that adults can enjoy too. It's going to be so popular. Yeah! How exciting!:sohappy:
HAHA...like the thing they just showed with the dancing flowers, and the narrorator was like "Who wrote this?!" LOL...
And the beginning of the other one. The narrorator was like "Meanwhile, our hero's are waiting for their part in the episode" and the sword is like "HURRY UP, we're already 2 minutes in" :lol: :lol: ...
AWESOME!
and you know what it really reminds me of?...Dudley Do Right, with clever jokes thrown in

It reminds me sort of Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs, except less real world jokes thrown in.

I mean at first I thought this was going to be the stupidest thing disney has done. It's like me thinking spongebob would be stupid but now it's a hit, let's hope the same for dave too

It seems like the show could be funny, but I am not going to sit down and watch it. The characters are hideous. This is some of the worst animation I have ever seen on the Disney Channel. It's loose and undetailed. It horrifies the image of a Disney princess. It resembles Ren and Stimpy more than anything. I agree with what Roy said about the Disney image going down. The Disney Channel can do a lot more things with their airtime.

I thought this show would be really awful too. I thought it would be all bathroom humor and fart jokes, but no. The jokes were really clever and funny. I havn't seen a show this funny since Animaniacs. Don't worry about the animation right now. Sure, it's bad animation, because it was such a low budget show. Once everyone discovers it, it will become as popular as Spounge Bob if not more popular, and will recieve alot of money and the animation will hopefully be improved.:sohappy:

Although I like Dudley Do-right type jokes, I didn't like the show.
It has too much of a Paradise Pier/Dino-rama flavor to it that I just can't accept from Disney.
Yes, I know.. this is now an angle at Disney to make things bad and then poke fun at yourself and call it intentional. But that's not what made me love Disney originally. It was the time and care spent in details and quality.
Oh well, it is funny (to a point) but I will not keep tuning in. My son wanted to see it bad. After the first comercial, he was wanting to see more of Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story was shown right before the series started). So we changed channels.
Kim Possible is still the best new Disney show out there (and it doesn't feel Disney, but at least it's watchable)

That's the same thing I was thinking when I first saw the preview. An evil pig, a little girl monkey, and a princess who cares about nothing more then shopping. Then I watched it...LOL
I really did like it. The animation isnt bad, it's just a different style, Much like Teacher's Pet is (which is getting very good reviews from what I have read). I think this animation is more detailed then anything on The Proud Family or Kim Possible. On this show, their mouths actually move with the words their saying. That's something that has always bothered me about Proud and Kim. It's like the animators of those shows dont know the words characters will be saying, but instead, just draw the mouth opening and closing a couple times. And the movements they make are just SO random, no matter what the situation.
But for those who didnt like it, did you actually watch a full episode?

:lol: Yes I did actually. I agree with you on the Proud Family. I on't find the animation out of sequence on Kim though.
Although I turned my sons tv I did watch the rest of one episode in the Living room before deciding if I'd like it. To me, the animation on Dave was poor and jerky. I don't understand why Disney wants to be looked at as another Nick style cartoon company now. The animation in Gummi Bears or Ducktales is what use to stand Disney apart from all the other toons out there. Now they seem to be cashing in.
Dave is very much in the George of the Jungle/ Dudley Do-right/ Monty Python/ Rocky & Bullwinkle style of comedy. Which is funny, but is it Disney?

I agree that the Proud Family and Kim Possible don't have the best animation. But, the characters look good. The Proud Family's background just needs to have more detail. And Kim's mouth not matching words works for the channel. They have these new commercials that are like bloopers, but they're really the same animation with just different words. I think they're the same anyway. It's just that Kim and the Prouds could almost be real sometimes. Not like they look real, but they act real. At least when they're at school. They have current fashions's and all that. I'd pick Kim and The Proud Family over Dave, but Dave may be alright for the younger crowd.

i saw parts of the show when it premierd on friday. and it isn't that bad i'll see how i like it on friday. The theme song is pretty catchy and addicting.lol
