As I started an earlier thread about "Tangled", I and many other users had ideas of a dark ride. I would love to see one! Disney needs a new dark ride. They are so classic and original! I want to see your ideas! Please post replies!! :)

I love dark rides and would rather see a new dark ride than a roller coaster any day. I'm still hoping we'll get that Nightmare Before Christmas dark ride that has been theorized for some years now. Sleepy Hollow would make an awesome dark ride too. I've never been to Disneyland but I'd love to ride Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderland. Mickey Mouse deserves a dark ride too, but he may be too iconic for one ride to capture.

Whatever they do they need to push the envelope with any new dark rides. Pooh for example is a huge let down. I'm sure the kiddies love it, but it seems like it was made in the same era as Snow White's (Diminishingly) Scary Adventures.

Pooh's new queue is much needed and quite pleasing. Mickey is too iconic, as you said, to have his own dark ride focusing on him alone. Pinocchio is GREAT at Disneyland;I have yet to ride Alice. I'd love to see "Nightmare" in a dark ride, but...Haunted Mansion Holiday is at DL, which for 1/3 of the year(from Halloween-end of year), is a complete re-theme when "Nightmare" comes in. You've probably heard a/b it, even though never visiting DL. It looks so COOL! I wish that they would bring that to WDW, then that would solve the "Nightmare" deal. I think that they are doing well w/ the interactive/refurbished queue @ Pooh--it amps things up a bit. Still thinking on an idea for a dark ride. . .hmmm..

Not necessarily. A dark ride based on the new video game Epic Mickey could be amazing. If the game sells as well as I think it will, such a ride coud be a real possibility. (The current) Disney always listens to the money. :animwink:

Not long ago I proposed a dark ride based on Disney's Xmas special "Prep and Landing": http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=627496

I think one themed for The Sword in the Stone could be fun. I know not everybody likes the movie, but even proportionately to its popularity I think it's underrepresented in the parks.

I know this would probably be too large scale, but think about a dark ride similar to Fantasmic! This would be an effective way to put Mickey, his pals and several other "hero" characters into one ride that has the "good guys" trying to save the kingdom from the villains. One scene, for example could be Jafar turning into a snake, and Hercules could come to the rescue, helping you escape from his clutches. And for the ending, when it looks as if the villains are going to succeed, Sorceror Mickey saves the day. This idea probably isn't new, but I think it would be a nice change to see a ride that is intense and is a little darker - in the same vein as Countdown to Extinction was.

I did have ideas for dark rides of fairytales. These are not the Disney adaptations, but the originall Grimm verisons. This would probably work best in a German theme park.

If it were up to me, I'd expand Liberty Square and put in a Legend of Sleepy Hollow/Headless Horseman dark ride. I'd also put in a Mr. Toad's dark ride between Fantasyland and Liberty Square to ease the transition between the lands.

SeaCastle, I couldn't agree with you more!! Sleepy Hollow needs something by Sleepy Hollow Refreshments! Why not?!?!? TRON and Wall-E, if to get attractions, should definitely be in EPCOT or Tomorrowland(probably EPCOT though). I can see a dark ride for UP--that would be pure magic! Beauty and the Beast is already getting a castle and restaurant in the new Fantasyland, so I would think that we are good there. Ahhh, Jungle Book needs SO MUCH MORE attention than it does now! I mean, so many reasons!! The Lion King already has something in AK(musical), and I couldn't really see much Lion King in the MK. All great ideas! Please post more!!!!

The Jungle Book, the last Disney animated movie with Walt's personal touch! It needs so much more in the parks(dark ride). I'm not sure the last time Disney made a new dark ride(the year), but a classic-type ride w/ new technology would be epic!!!

It should have it's place in adventure land as a more of a kid's experience.

As for the Sleepy Hollow ride, they should add that into liberty square, but I don't know where they could put Toad...the music and arch already eases it, no?

Yeah, Jungle Book in Adventureland. Liberty Square is such a great(FULL OF SO MUCH INCREDIBLE AND CRUCIAL HISTORY), but under-rated land--therefore, it needs something new to attract the not-so-interested. Well, that of course is not the only reason for a new attraction. Sleepy Hollow would be so cool to have in Liberty Square, but to me, it doesn't seem like Disney is going to bring back older flicks into new rides. I wish and hope though. . . Yet, they did bring back EO to EPCOT. So, this could go either way. I could see them bring "Toad" to the MK. More ideas--I'm loving this!! :)

I've definitely heard of the NBC Haunted Mansion re-theme and I've wanted to see it for years, but I'm nowhere near close to California, so it'd take a bit of cash to get me and my wife there. I understand the reasons why WDW doesn't, but I still wish they would bring NBC to the WDW HM. The closest I've been to the ride is the NBC DVD featurette, which is still cool.

Lion King would be pretty cool, as others have said. Sleeping Beauty would be cool too, for no better reason than Maleficent.

Yes, the closest I've gotten to HMH is in the NBC special features on Blu-Ray. What exactly are Disney's reasons for not bringing HMH to WDW?
