Dark ride ideas

Another thread got me thinking about what possible new dark rides Disney could create.

When I was in the Magic Kingdom in the '70s they had some wonderful window displays in one of the gift shops. These were to coincide with the rerelease of The Jungle Book in theaters at that time. These displays were really cool little dioramas that had moving parts...recreating scenes from the movie. The models they used looked to me on par with the quality maquettes that the animators use for reference when animating characters.

At any rate, I remember a couple of the scenes, and since then I always thought that a life size version would be a really great dark ride.
One scene had Kaa wrapped around a hypnotized Mowgli ready to swallow him high up in the tree.
Another had King Louie trying desperately to hold up the teetering remains of the crumbling temple while Baloo and Mowgli make a quick getaway.
I can't remember if there were more (there may have only been two windows used), but it really put an impression in my young mind!

Wouldn't that be a cool boat ride type attraction, nestled in Adventureland? Of course a boat ride might be too similar to the Jungle Cruise. Another idea would be a 'Great Movie Ride' type of attraction, except dealing with Disney animated classic only.

I like the JB idea, but I think it would be better at AK. Disney does dark rides better than anyone else and AK could use 1 or 2. As for a Disney Classic Animated dark ride, if Disney loses the rights to MGM movies, The Great Movie Ride will have to be changed, and the Sorcerer's Hat in front of the building would make a good entrance to a Disney dark ride.

Cheers

Oh yeah I forgot about AK. :)
I guess a Jungle Book ride could squeeze into the Asia section as well.
