DAK: South America

I am currently thinking of South America for Disney's Animal Kingdom. It will feature 2 attractions for the time being. They are as follows:

1: Amazon Excursion - In this walk through attraction, one will discover many native South American creatures such as parrots, monkeys, jaguars, armadillos, anteaters, etc.

2: Scale the Andes - A Big Thunder Mountain-esque type attraction will take visitors on a newly opened mine train voyage that promises to take you higher than any other railroad. As your expedition moves on and your vehicle climbs higher, the commotion of the train causes a landslide sending snow, ice and earth hurdling towards you. The only way out: A high speed race down the steepest terrain The Andes has to offer.

Budget for South America: $250,000,000
Location: South-West of Africa, just north-west of Camp Minnie-Mickey.

Description: As soon as you enter South America, the lush landscape and flowing water will make you feel as if you weren't in Florida. First, you decide to take a nice quiet Excursion through the Amazon. It isn't the unique South American architecture that grabs your attention, its the 199 ft. ( ) snow capped Forbi...Andes Mountains. The sound of a mine train moving at blinding speeds encourages you to head towards the giant stucture. South America will give visitors a tranquil walk through the rainforest, a pulse racing ride around the Andes and back to Florida in just one day.

So, what do you guys think?

Very good. Sounds neat. Actually, I've got an idea for the Mine Train ride. You know those kinds of roller coasters where you first start going up a lift, and it drops you, and you go down the hill backwards? Well, maybe your mine train will go up a lift through the center of the mountain. Then an avalanch takes place, you car drops backwards down the lift. That's just my idea that popped into my head while reading this. You don't have to use it.:) Anyway, very good ideas. Add some more rides though.

Thanks!:D Are you going to use it? You have my permission, and you don't have to give me credit if you present this idea.:)

:) Ooh... a South American Animal Kingdom land seems like a perfectly natural addition with great potential... but it needs something more than a mine train coaster.

I don't know how expensive or plausible it might be, but what about an Andes themed ride where your ride vehicle... is an animatronic llama? It's common knowledge that many theme park attarctions suffer from a lack of animatronic llamas. :)

The llama would essentially move on a post on a rail (similar to a carousel figure), and should be capable of rotating, bouncing up and down, careening down the mountainside at high speeds, and also spitting, perhaps operated with a on the back of the llama's neck. They should travel in packs, and you should start off going on a Llama Tour through ancient Incan ruins and rain forests, only to wind up immersed in South American fun and wacky adventure. The whole ride should have kind of the zany spirit of "The Emperor's New Groove," although I would be loathe to incorporate a marketing tie-in, since it seems to cheapen rides to do that.

Just some suggestions. :)

Sounds ok...

Do you have drawings yet?

1st. Make some drawings of your park.
2nd. Do some explanations about the drawings.
3rd. Fill in the rides, restaurants, toilets, etc...

I'll start working on drawings and in-depth explanations. I was on vacation 3/15-3/22 so I just came back last night. I'll start ASAP.

If your going to have the amazon you have to have an amazon water ride. Its only fair. It could have all sorts of real and AA animals along the way.
