D23 Membership worth it or not?

We have lots and lots of identical threads about D23 so you might want to search -- you'll find thousands of posts in the threads evenly divided between "sure" and "not at all"...
Disney doesn't publish their stats, but I would bet that the renewal rate on the D23 membership is very low -- unless you live in Anaheim or Orlando -- or plan to travel there for a Disney Expo or the like, you'll find very little beyond the magazine in your membership...and you can get the magazine at your neighborhood Barnes and Noble at half the price of a D23 membership.

If you live in the areas where they do regular events, then yeah, its worth it. For example, Jim Hill posted a whole smattering of movies/shorts being shown in the CA area in the near future, most of which have $5 off or half off if you were a D23 member. So if you live in that area, and attend stuff like that, you could save a bunch.
OR, if you like the looks of some of the past events they have offered. Their Magic & Merriment event during the holidays for example. If that is something that you want to do, then you would need to be a member. And keep in mind the low number of members that actually can attend the event.
Or if you like to purchase exclusive merchandise.

Not much value for those living outside of southern California. Disney should have advertised D23 as a Disneyland fan club IMHO.
