D23 Expo

Not sure if anyone posted anything about this, but the upcoming D23 expo looks like it'll be the Holy Grail for Disney fans.

But it should be noted that this event is taking place at Disneyland, or across the street from Disneyland at the Anaheim Convention Center. Disney has a contract with the Anaheim Convention Center to hold this D23 Expo here for the first four years at least, in September 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. It's probably there to help hype the DCA Makeover as major new stuff will be opening at DCA in '10, '11 and '12.

It could in theory move to Walt Disney World in 2013, at the Orlando Convention Center. If it stays the same size as the 2009 version that uses almost all of the massive Anaheim Convention Center (largest on the West Coast), then there is not a facility large enough for the Expo on Walt Disney World property. They would need to go to the Orlando Convention Center, a bit of a drive from Disney property.

Which, now that I've typed that and thought about it, might be exactly why they have decided to do this at the Anaheim Convention Center for the forseeable future instead. Anaheim is compact and all right there, and can handle an event this large.
