Anaheim, CA, just like it was this year. They've booked the convention center for something like the next three years.

No.

The Orlando Convention Center isn't large enough for such an event (and not that close to Disney property), and given that most of Disney's offices are in Burbank, it doesn't make sense to schlepp all the stuff for those exhibits across the country.

They haven't announced that there even will be one yet. Just because they booked the space there for that time frame doesn't mean that they will hold the event. It just gives them the option to hold it.

Orange County Convention Center is the second largest in the nation, the decision has more to due with proximity to the resort...

If only they had a ton of available private event space available at one of their WDW theme parks.... and if only one of those venues had a kitchen and could serve food for the guests...

I'm just sayin...

and WDW is the #1 most attended park area in the world with MK being the #1 most attended park in the world
What does that have to do with anything? The problem is size of the convention center. None of the ones on Disney property are as big as the anaheim one. The Orange County Convention Center could be used and there would be plenty of space, but the problem is it's proximity to WDW.

Maybe at the most it would go to the Orange Country Convention Center once the Bullet Train is complete (since there will be a station on WDW property and one at the Convention Center). Only other way to have it by WDW would be for Disney to create their own massive Convention Center.

But it boils down to what already someone has said. Everything is based in California they are not going to spend the money to send Imagineers, Executives, etc, etc here to Florida. They would not be able to get the star commitment they had at the expo if they had it here as well.

Orlando is one of the world's most active tourism destinations, yes--but the world's tourism, and more specifically Disney for that matter doesn't revolve around Orlando. As much as many of us would love for Disney to have the D23 Expo here as soon as possible, it is hardly likely, considering the proximity to the Disney headquarters in Glendale, to the Disneyland Resort and to much of Imagineering's testing facilities (where new projects are easier to transport). While it may seem appropriate for the expo to be here, logistically it makes far more sense to hold it in Anaheim (much to my chagrin).

how big do you think the convention area that held the new millenium thing is over at EPCOT

Not even close to the size of the Anaheim Convention Center... There isn't a chance in the world that it would be used as the sole location for an Expo of D23's size...

The only draw back is the offices being in CA. They could hold some events in the empty WOL, then onther event in the empty Huchback theater ect... Both of those could have access to dinning facilities around the parks. It could work easily in WDW they just won't do it
