Hey everybody, looks like my resort was switched on me once again. I was supposed to stay at the Summer Bay Resort but the travel company wasn't able to confirm and I got switched and confirmed into this one. I got two free nights out of it though....:)

So I'm fishing for information on this resort, looks nice on the webpage but not a lot of information about it in general.....How close is it to WDW in reality? Does it provide shuttle service? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Cypress Pointe is very close (about 1 mile from the Hotel Blvd. access road). You will need a car (no shuttles that I am aware of), but it's a GREAT choice. Roomy, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom condos with full kitchens. Clean grounds and a medium size heated pool. The units are a little older, which in Florida means that they can be a little musty from all of the humidity. It's a pretty common deal and we didn't mind. Cypress Pointe Resort and Grand villas are next to each other, and have very similar floor plans. Grand Villas have an elevator in each building. CPR doesn't, so if you book on that side you may have to climb up stairs if you end up on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We really liked the resort. They can be booked very cheaply through Hotelkingdom.com, and I was actually just looking at locking in a few days in June.

From the resort, it's about 10 minutes to MGM or Epcot, and a little further to AK. The MK is a solid 15 minutes. You are actually on Disney property in about 5 minutes, but then you have to get to the theme parks.

You won't have housecleaning unless you pay extra. There is a washer and dryer in each unit.

We highly recommend the resort.

I actually own a timeshare in the Summer Bay Resort. I like it there, it's quiet. I know that Cypress Pointe shares a few similarities with Summer Bay Resort, I've never actually stayed there but you should be pleased from what I've heard.

We stayed there a few years back and were very pleased. The location is really great. The entrance to WDW via the hotel blvd./DTD area is right across the street. The 2 bedroom condos looked very nice, we were in a one bedroom with our 2 kids. This really is too small for a family. The sleeper sofa and kitchen are crammed together and it's very tight quarters.

Overall I would say the location can't be beat.
