Cycling Friendly Paths/Roads on Disney Property?

Hello!

I'm sure there are a few cyclists on this discussion board who could provide some information on cycling friendly paths and/or roads on Disney property? I'm going up in mid-March for a quick weekend with the family and would like to take my road bike (Specialized Secteur Elite Disc) with me to do some quick 5-10 mile rides before hitting the parks.

Thanks!

Have a look at heading towards Coronado Springs, and then along Western Way down to Flamingo Crossings. Very quiet roads and ideal for cycling.

That would be good enough to keep the legs loose. I'll save my longer distance rides for home (Fort Myers, FL). Thanks!

I've always tried to scope out where a place to ride would be...in addition to what was mentioned, take a look at this and see if this makes sense to be able to get a decent ride in without being too much traffic. There's a part there on Buena Vista that has a separate path from the road that would be safe.

FWIW, not that any sane cyclist would go that way, but bicycles are specifically prohibited on Buena Vista Dr from Hotel Plaza to Bonnet Creek Pkwy through the DTD construction area.

Be mindful that cyclists are rare at WDW and motorists probably aren't expecting to encounter them.

For a real workout, use the surrey bikes around the BoardWalk and Y and B/C

I rode the surrey bikes a couple of years ago and I agree, they are a work out, but I'm looking at riding for distance (18mph - slow to 24mph - fast with some sprints up to 28-30 if I really get into it). I rode with these guys down in Naples a few times - if you want a workout - this will burn every muscle fiber strand in your body!

Naples Velo "Hour Of Power" :)
