Cutting scheduled entertainment?

At Disneyland I’ve noticed several live entertainment acts get cut short. Perhaps because of how crowded the parks are at times? Not sure. But it’s annoying to plan around a scheduled performance and then have that performance not take place or be cut extremely short.

Dapper Dans and 5 & Dime are the 2 that I’ve noticed the most.

Other than schedule conflicts (like 'oops parade'), or tech problems {like mic going out}, or someone gets sick so they don't have a full complement, I can't say I've noticed a cutting-off issue personally. I've seen Dappers, Bootstrappers, Five & Dime, and the Dance-Off along with the other Campus shows running normally except when there's a glitch as noted above. The Disneyland Band seems to constantly play no matter where I go to get away from them. lol

Though thinking about it, Five & Dime may have shortened their sets in recent months. It's also possible management determined the crowds will only stay for a certain amount of time and are making the sets shorter accordingly.

Can anyone help me understand the value the phalanx of entertainment cast serves that acts as crowd control prior to each show? Could be done with half as many. Has to be the most Cush gig in the resort.

Have you ever seen it in action? You could do it with half as many
I do nothing but watch entertainment and characters at the parks, so yeah, I've seen the swarms of CM's trying to keep people out of the show's paths. I've also seen the swarms of guests completely ignoring them no matter how many are shouting, pointing, and pleading for them to get out of the way. So no, half as many wouldn't do the job since all the ones they have can't as it is now! lol

Honestly? I blame the fact that we now all have to walk through the parks with our heads down over our phones instead of heads up paying attention to our surroundings. :/

iPhone usage for simple tasks really is becoming an issue. It’s also annoying when guests are playing iPhone noise directly around you.

They don’t seem very capable. They do do a great job jawing with each other between shows though I’ll give them that
