Current filming at Disney MGM Studios

Does anyone know if there are any TV shows currently filming at Disney/MGM that we can go and see in the 1st week of August? If so, do you need to book tickets, or do you just turn up as with other shows or rides?

Aside from the occassional Who Wants To Be a Millionaire taping (which will also be leaving the parks in August) there hasn't been anything produced at all inside MGM in a long time.

I think a few people will be filming family vacation videos. You can watch faux tapings of Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and LMA.

Disney offically stopped offering production facilities and services afew years back because it just wasn't profitable enough. The only thing produced their now are occational Millonair episodes (not for very much longer) and ESPN stuff.

the last thing that happend at the studios that was any revelance was the test runs of the new disney live costumes. Which will be displayed durring the playhouse celebration.

I think Sheena was the last thing taped there. They need to bring Thunder in Paradise back. Nothing beat a huge boat speeding the around the 7 seas lagoon like it was the Atlantic Ocean. What was that guys name, Brew or something.

As has already been mentioned, the actual production facilities have been shut down. They decided Florida was too far removed from the major centres of film and TV productions, so they closed the lot down.

It's actually really sad if you think about it. I remember going there in the early days and anticipating what stage or props you might see or even the possibility of seeing an actual show being taped.

actualy Cheerleader nation was the last show filmed there, all be it it was not a disney production and not once was Disney MGM studios called by its name.

They did tape millionaire there last Jan and Feb but I guess thats all for that show there.

The New York Film Academy uses the Studio for classes during the Summer months. The class are for a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and a month and you make your own movie. They teach all the fundamentals of making movies.
