CSR food court question

How exactly does this food court work with the dining plan? Do you pay a 10% gratuity everytime you go to the food court or is it included in the dining plan?

I would assume every time you go to Pepper Market, you need to pay the 10% gratuity. I've never used the DDP there, but I doubt it would be included with the CS meal.

If you're looking for just a quick meal, I'd recommend the Cafe Rix quick serve area. It's quick, and the food is pretty good. That's where I got the only pizza I've ever enjoyed in WDW  And there's no tip to worry about.

I wish I could give you a definitive answer. Some people have said they still had to pay it on the dining plan, others have said they have not. We've had the dining plan the last three years and were at the CSR all three of those years. We NEVER paid the 10% gratuity on the dining plan. Unfortunately, they do not seem to be very consistent. I always tell people that the best way to avoid the 10% is to ask for a "to go ticket" and take your food outside and eat at one of the tables right outside the building or at one of the tables by the lake (this is what DH and I do most of the meals to enjoy the scenery).

For the last two years that we have gone to pepper's we leave a tip if the service is good. They bring your drinks and extras but we get the meals. There have been times when we didn't leave a tip and we where not charged the 10% later. The 10% seems more like a suggested amount then anything else. Hope that helps.

The 10% is included in the DDP and QSDDP.

I was on the DDP when we stayed there this past December, and I always left a tip on the table for the server. I never had to fork over additional $$ for the gratuity when I went to the cashier to check out thou?

Why can't this place be like any other food court?

Sounds like a rip off to me to be charged 10% of the bill to be shown to my table.. a task that is simple enough to me - look for an empty table and sit down, and to have my drink brought over for me, which I am also quite capable of doing??

There is no way I would stay there for 14 nights, the 10% charge throughout the stay would be big bucks lol..

Truthfully, we like it. We are always on the dining plan, but if we weren't, I wouldn't mind the 10% gratuity. The food is so much better than your typical food courts. We ate at the CBR food court last year on a visit...let's just say, I hate McDonalds, and I would rather eat at McDonalds seven days a week than to go back to the CBR food court. It might all be a mute point within a year or so as rumor is they are turning Pepper Market into a buffet similar to Boma.

It's included in the sense you do not have to pay the 10% OOP that's automatically added to the bill for guests not on the DDP. What's not so certain is whether the server gets the 10% even if DDP guests don't leave anything extra OOP.

All the staff at the Pepper Market split the the 10% gratuity, not just the servers. Leaving extra is up to the individual guest. Not sure if 10% is given to them when guests are dining on the DDP.
